Coming to Llandeilo was a perfect choice. Choosing your cottage was the perfect choice. The views are breath taking. The cottage itself made the stay that bit more cosy in its remote location. exactly what we were looking for. Everything is in travelling distance, perfect area in a perfect location, lots to see locally with the beautiful Gower within an hours drive. Its a 'must see' place to go.
I didn't know what to expect when i booked this as some internet bookings can be deliberately misleading. However this cottage is really good, well worth a visit and what you see is what you get. It is well equipped with quality furnishings and items, very quiet and spotlessly clean. It is also deceptively spacious inside. The owners, Charlotte and Brian are always there to help should you need any advice or assistance. The cottage is in the countryside with stunning views from the windows looking towards the Black Mountain.
We used this as a base to go to various locations throughout the week. Charlotte advised a trip to Rhossili Bay, it is such a lovely place to visit and the walk along the clifftop to Worms Head is breathtaking. We also visited the Dolaucothi Gold Mines which is another National Trust site and is relatively inexpensive, good fun and really interesting. Also Dan-yr-Ogof Caves is a fantastic day out with lots to see and do and keeps the children occupied for hours. There are so many places of interest just a short drive away. The Aberdulais Falls is worth a visit for a few hours, and also the Henrhyd Falls is stunning and there is an unstable pathway where you can walk behind the falls. The spray is so refreshing on a hot day. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is nearby and again is a lovely day out. We went to quite a few other places during the week, these are just a few that spring to mind.
Oxwich Bay has a single track road leading to it which they have put double yellow lines all the way down. At the end of the road on your left is an expensive car park which will not allow pedestrians through (this being the only way into Oxwich Bay) and on your right, a shop with a no parking/clamping sign if you choose to park there. I chose not to bother at all and went to Rhossili Bay for the afternoon instead. Personally, i'd sooner never know what Oxwich Bay looks like!
Also if you are out and about here, try to use a map and stick to the main roads, as satnavs will have you driving for a lot of extra time through single track lanes just to knock a couple of miles off a journey - no matter how it's programmed.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this place to anyone. I genuinely cannot fault this cottage and if we visited Wales again, I would like to stay here. There is so much more to see and do within the area. Compared with other cottages we've stayed in around Britain, i would say this is worth nearly double the rate we paid for the week.
