Located in a very central part of Carmarthen surrounded by many pubs, shops and eaterys.
If you are after an authentic Wales pub stay - this is the place. Check in at the bar, climb the stairs, unlock your room door with an actual key. The room was basically furnished but very comfortable and clean. Ensuite bathroom had a shower with a good hot stream and good toiletries provided.
Breakfast is served in the back bistro and was a very tasty cooked breakfast with juices, cereals, toast included.
This is a no frills genuine pub atmosphere establishment. The front bar has friendly locals up for a chat, and a well stocked bar. Stayed 2 nights and Loved it!

Warning - this is not a Lux 4 star hotel. Do not expect a $300 room for $100 price tag.

Room tip: All rooms are accessed via stairs.

Spent two nights here and was impressed by the comfortable beds and the friendliness and the professionalism of the landlady. Parking is £3.40 for four hours a stretch. The main shopping centre is about three minutes walk away. Would certainly come back again.

Booked this in early March for a August weeks holiday - Room 17 dark dismal and dirty not cleaned as bins were full and coffee in cups - was moved to room 18 - dark dismal and dirty . There were hair grips all over the floor - used toilet paper behind seat, bathroom bin full, towels had been used and rehung, something in bath plughole, light above mirror wasn’t working, bath shower screen hanging off, parking was inadequate down a dark lane to rear but was pitch black to come back through the hotel. Asked for refund and was told manager would agree it inthe morning. At 10:25pm I was picking up the hairgrips when 2 insects( fleas?) jumped on my hand - I killed both and went to make yet another complaint but everywhere was in complete darkness on ground floor - she had locked up and gone home - couldn’t find any light switches in bar /restaurant area to find door out - so decided to sleep fully clothed on top of bed. Following morning was told the manager would be coming at some point during the morning - person was defending the cleanliness yet the book in girl had witnessed the rooms and agreed it was in an unacceptable state as both rooms had not been cleaned ready for next guests
We were eventually given 5 night refund should have been full as only one night (forced) stay and it absolutely spoiled our holiday. No apology was given with refund - only apology was from bookin Girl that had witnessed the filth

The room was basic and generally ok. The window overlooked the building next door. I was kept awake by the constant run of water that ran down the neighbouring buildings wall. The fire alarm went off early in the morning and all of the guests waited in the bar. It took thirty minutes before a member of staff turned up. I was shocked by the lack of any proper fire safety procedures and the lax attitude. Thankfully it was a false alarm.

The hotel was easy to find except for its car park. It’s at the back you need to drive through a municipal car park to find it. The car park is small & quite tight. But do not let that put you off. The hotel is a warm friendly place and the staff are very accommodating. Breakfast was the normal cooked or serial, very nice. The location is perfect fo visiting the town of Carmarthen the shops & sites are within easy walking distance. We used it as a base for visiting Tenby, Saunders foot etc. Very satisfied with our stay & would come again.
