Lovely cottage, lovely garden, lovely location and lovely hosts.
Definitely a cottage to be recommended!
My partner and I took my parents away for the weekend and we stayed in Mary's gorgeous cottage which was well equipped with everything we needed.
It was very clean and has comfortable beds.
When we arrived we were greeted with homemade bread, Jam and Welsh cakes which we all ate!
The view into the garden and beyond was beautiful and very peaceful. It was lovely to watch the birds in the mornings and the bats in the evenings.
We will definitely be staying at Pen-Y-Garn cottage again :)
On arrival we were greeted by Annmarie with smiles and warmth. The cottage is simply stunning with little homely touches to make your stay more comfortable fresh bread welsh cakes on arrival and damson jam on from the garden simply perfect.
A mountain of information tourist leaflets and their own information folder to help you plan your holiday. One of the best places we have stayed and certainly the cleanest. I would highly recommend
As ever, Mary-Ann and Mike were the perfect hosts. From booking to departure, nothing was an issue. The cottage was immaculate, the welcome warm and everything was just brilliant!
This was my third visit to Pen Y Garn and it was just lovely to watch the birds in the wonderful garden, read my book and reach for a big mug of tea!
Local drives and walks - even in March - were well worth wrapping up for, knowing that one could light a delightful wood-burner when you got home.
Thank you again for making me feel so welcome - I'm sure I'll be back again and again!
We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Pen Y Garn. What a wonderful place, we were greeted by the owners and shown around. Beautifully decorated and fitted with all new appliances and equipment the cottage was spotlessly clean and tidy. The owner had left us fresh baked bread and scones and very attentive if we needed any help with anything. I would not hesitate to recommend this property for a stay in South Wales, lots of wildlife, and near enough to lots of interesting places to visit.
We will definitely be back again-excellent!
In short, this was a perfect stay away from home. Such friendly, welcoming hosts with a quaint and clean cottage situated in the most stunning of grounds. We really couldn't have asked for more!
The cottage had all the amenities you could ask for and was clean and well presented. The beds were incredibly comfy with immaculate bedding. Mary-Ann has worked hard to provide lots of information on the local area and attractions and the cottage features lots of her photography for inspiration. We were warmly welcomed with a loaf of fresh bread, home made jam and Welsh cakes (which my twins loved so much I've had to learn to make them myself!). We were truly blessed by the weather during our short stay here, so took every opportunity to enjoy the stunning garden - we enjoyed family games at the large table, breakfast at the smaller garden table amongst the flurry of butterflies or just relaxed in the sun on the picnic blanket by the pond... it was our own little bit of paradise! Thank you so much for welcoming us in to your home, we hope to visit again soon and would highly recommend to anyone!
We stayed for 2 weeks in Mary-Ann and Mike´s holiday house "Peny Y Garn". We are a couple with 2 girls (14 and 18 years). Mary-Ann and Mike welcomed us very hearty with homemade welsh cakes and red currant marmelade in the cosy and quiet cottage. In the house we had all things we needed, also w-lan, TV and a fireplace. Mary-Ann gave us helpful tips for our daytrips, for restaurants, shopping and sightseeing.
The terrace and garden reminded us of the nearby National Botanic Garden of Wales. Especially the girls enjoyed the presence of animals in the garden, like rabbits, squirrels and singing birds.
All together it was a pleasent stay and a wondeful family-trip for us.
