“Perfect getaway spot”
Reviewed 20 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Cottage ticked all the boxes for what we needed, allows dogs, secure garden, sleeps 4, close to North Antrim coast. 10 mins to Whitepark Bay, Port Bradden, Ballintoy, 20 mins to Giant's Causeway, Dark Hedges, Portrush.
Experiences all 4 seasons during our stay, but the cottage was toasty warm when we needed it to be.
Will be back, hopefully soon.

“Lovely Cottage in Beautiful Location”
Reviewed 6 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed in Araboy Cottage the first week in June. We wanted somewhere quiet and secluded to use as a base for travelling around Antrim and this was absolutely perfect. Surrounded on 3 sides by fields (with sheep) the house was ideal for us. Our Springer Spaniel, Tilly, could wander around the garden without any worries. The sheep ignored her and she ignored them! The cottage had everything you could want. It was spotless, the beds were comfy, kitchen well stocked, large TV, DVD player, central heating and plenty of extra towels/bed linen etc. The owner, Margaret, met us when we arrived and had plenty of suggestions for day trips etc which we might like to do. Ideally situated, it is a 5 minute drive from Bushmills Village in one direction and 5 minutes from White Rock Beach in the other. Coleraine is only 15 minutes away - which has a large Asda & Sainsburys - so convenient for shopping. We would definitly recommend staying here.

“Comfortable cottage in a convenient location, and dog-friendly.”

This cottage was perfect for our holiday with 2 cocker spaniels. The location is quiet, and the garden secure so that dogs can be let outside with no worries.
The cottage is well equipped, with a very nice large flat-screen TV and DVD player. It also has central heating so it is cosy with plenty of hot water. (I don't know how a previous reviewer found it chilly!)
The coastal area of Antrim is superb, with many lovely beaches for dog walking, including White Park which is a favourite of the cottage owner. Great golf too, with Ballycastle, Bush Foot and Portrush close by.
The cottage does not have Internet, but we were able to connect via the neighbour's "BT with FON" wifi, although the access was intermittent.
All in all, we had a great time and the cottage was excellent - we'll hopefully be returning.

“Lovely but chilly!”

Great little cottage, everything you need for a stay. Definitely not in Bushmills as advertised, but a lovely location all the same. My only gripe was it was impossibly cold to heat & keep warm. It was a dreadfully cold week so I found myself attaching blankets to external doors to keep draughts at bay! Would defo book again, only now I know how to keep it warm!

“Cozy cottage, fantastic location!”
Reviewed 29 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Just spent 4 nights at Araboy Cottage and loved it. Our weather was mild for late October, and we enjoyed a wonderful, whirlwind trip through Northern Ireland. Everything you want to see in Antrim is minutes from the cottage.

On Day 1, we headed toward Carrick-a-Rede and were shocked to discover just how close that breath-taking coastline was. In one day we did the rope bridge, Dunluce Castle, the Giant's Causeway, a beautiful coastal road trip to the sea-side town of Portrush, and still had time for some pints and a long dinner at the amazing Bushmills Inn (more on that shortly).

On Day 2, we visited the Bushmills Distillery and then took the 45 min. spectacular train trip to Londonderry and wandered there for the afternoon.

On Day 3, we visited the Dark Hedges in the morning and then spent most of the afternoon driving the Coastal Route through the Glens of Antrim and kept wondering why we hadn't heard more about them. So beautiful! It was like a postcard around every corner.

All of this was easily accessible (by car) from Araboy Cottage. The cottage itself is plain but cozy, with very comfortable beds and lots of quiet. It's only 3 miles outside Bushmills which, although not much to see in itself, has the famous whiskey distillery and--my favourite part--the Bushmills Inn. Going there is like stepping into the 1700's. The bar area is divided into small rooms, most with tiny fireplaces where peat and coal fires glow, and everything is leather and wood, with soft cushions and gas-burning lights over the bar. The food in the restaurant was good too, although a bit pricey.

In all, if you want to explore Antrim (which you should), Araboy Cottage is an excellent home base. The owner, Margaret, is a helpful guide who will provide you with useful information when you arrive, not to mention scones, butter, and milk. What more could you ask?

“Cozy break away”
Reviewed 17 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We stayed at Araboy for a week and had a great time. The cottage was clean and warm on our arrival and milk left in the fridge for a coffee. The cottage is ideal suited for a couple or family with small children. The garden is safe and enclosed.
We visited The Giants Causeway only a 10 minute drive and we walked to Bushmills distillery a 4 mile walk but worth it for the premium whiskey tasting which at £12 for 9 measures was amazing and very educational too! Taxi home though...
If staying make use of the NI rail network to visit Londonderry / Derry, it has to be the most beautiful rail journey in Northern Europe. Take the train from Coleraine £11.90 return.
We found the locals very helpful and friendly. We would stay again and recommend a visit to Northern Ireland a hidden gem.

“Lovely cottage in quiet location......”

This is a superb cottage in a lovely country setting, Handy for all the attractions of the Northern Irish coast. Well equipped, quiet and cosy. Beds are very comfortable and we slept like logs. My dog particularly enjoyed sitting on the lawn watching the sheep (they seemed to enjoy watching him back). Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone.
