We went as a group of six for the last evening of our holiday, and were looking for something a bit special. Unlike most "gastro" pubs the Longs Arms is still most definitely a pub and not a restaurant. Nothing fancy, no airs and graces, even regulars at the bar.
The service was friendly and efficient, and the menu changes daily and lists the provenance of the key ingredients. Their home baked bread with home made butter was fabulous, and set the scene for what was to come.
We had a selection of snacks to share for starters, and all the mains were interesting but not outlandish and beautifully cooked. Deserts were great too especially the blackberry parfait with brandy snaps.
