Description: The Longs Arms is a beautiful country pub serving cask ale and fresh seasonal food in a relaxed environment with warm and friendly service. We are located in the heart of the lovely village of South Wraxall – just 3 miles from the picturesque town of Bradford on Avon, and 7 miles from the historical city of Bath.

We went as a group of six for the last evening of our holiday, and were looking for something a bit special. Unlike most "gastro" pubs the Longs Arms is still most definitely a pub and not a restaurant. Nothing fancy, no airs and graces, even regulars at the bar.

The service was friendly and efficient, and the menu changes daily and lists the provenance of the key ingredients. Their home baked bread with home made butter was fabulous, and set the scene for what was to come.

We had a selection of snacks to share for starters, and all the mains were interesting but not outlandish and beautifully cooked. Deserts were great too especially the blackberry parfait with brandy snaps.

We have mutual friends of the patrons Rob and Liz, we have passed many times and promised ourselves a visit and on reflection why oh why did it take us so long!! we visited on a Friday evening - busy with drinkers - good atmosphere but almost felt squeezed in, however that impression soon disappeared with the welcome and attention from Liz and her staff. (It is a pub so expect people to be around you) Our food was superb from the bread to the dessert, seasonal asparagus and flowers helping to make the dishes look what they were - stunning. Rob you have a talent and Mauro was right to point us in your direction.
I live a few miles away and will be making more of an effort to visit. I highly recommend you visiting this establishment for a genuine country gastro experience.

Most excellent meal for six, interesting, unusual and very fine ingredients. Can’t recommend highly enough. Plaice was spot on and blackberry parfait and brandy snap delicious.

We stop by on our way to London and it was totally worth it. Food and service were excellent and prices were reasonable. I really recommend it if you are around.

Returned here again to celebrate my wife's birthday.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was first class.
Hospitality was attentive and friendly. The Food was incredible. Rob the chef is a magician, he can conjure up dishes that are unique to him. The presentation and flavours are excellent. For our wine we choose a bottle of Codici Masserie Primotivo , oh my god it was incredible. This ranks as one of the best wines I've ever had.
Thank you Rob,Liz and your team for a very enjoyable evening.
Ps. the oysters did do what they are supposed to do.
