“Mrs & Dr”
Reviewed November 21, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Super cottage, well appointed, beautifully decorated and sleeps 5/6 in 3 bedrooms.
The house is tucked away up a track on the hill out of Bakewell, an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of town and a few more minutes back uphill. There is no parking outside the cottage but parking on the road up the hill is quite easy.
The front door leads into the living room with TV, cosy gas fire, stereo and plenty of seating for 4/5. There are games in the cupboard.
The kitchen and a hallway with stairs are off the living room.
The kitchen has all you need. It is small but there is an electric cooker, microwave, big fridge freezer and plenty of pots pans crockery etc. There is a table with chairs for 5.
There is a small courtyard outside.
The stairs lead to two bedrooms on the 1st floor. Both very well decorated and with very comfortable beds which was a very pleasant surprise. There is another door from the front bedroom which opens to a small landing and further staircase which leads to a super attic bedroom. The bathroom is also accessed from this landing and also from the rear bedroom. So you have to walk through a bedroom to get to the bathroom if you are coming from downstairs. A bit quirky but works really well as all bedrooms have independent access to the bathroom.
The bathroom is nice with a good sized bath. It has an electric shower which is about the same as every electric shower I have ever used ... it produces hot water but the pressure is poor! There's a nice round window looking out the the fields behind.

There were 4 adults visiting and we had a great stay. Communication with the owner is very good and the welcome bottle of wine and cupcakes a very nice touch.

If you want somewhere to stay in Bakewell this should be on your list.

“Excellent location”
Reviewed October 25, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Wonderful communication with owners. A welcome pack of wine and chocolate were very well received! The townhouse is a short walk uphill from Bakewell town. Comfortable beds. Small but well equipped kitchen. Picnic table in front courtyard was lovely to use for lunches.
Thanks for a delightful stay.

“Sweet cottage in Peak District”
Reviewed October 19, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Peak Cottage is a mid terrace cottage on the southern edge of Bakewell. It is a cosy cottage, set back from the main road with access via a rough track. The cottage has three bedrooms (one in the attic), bathroom, a kitchen/dinner and sitting room. These were OK for the two of us and our dog but could be a tight squeeze for a larger group. However the heating system could be improved, and the lack of allocated parking posed a couple of problems.
My sister and l enjoyed our visit, and greatly enjoyed looking around the local area (walking, visiting Chatsworth etc.). Bakewell is a busy town, and offers lots of amenities within easy walking distance from the house (cafes, pubs, shops, river walks, etc.) so it is a good base for exploring the Peak District.

“Good value and good exercise walking back from town!”
Reviewed September 2, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This was a pleasant cottage with some welcoming touches on arrival which were appreciated - wine scones etc. We were a family group of 5 adults so the cottage was a bit on the snug side - but I had the lovely main bedroom so wasn't complaining! There wouldn't be enough seats in the lounge for 6 although technically could sleep this number. It suited our group as I was trying to find somewhere with 3 double beds which isn't easy.

Only one toilet/bathroom caused a few queues and was a little dated but understand that is soon to change.

Nice walk into town and good exercise on the way back up the hill!. Parking was OK but not brilliant for unloading car and cottage a bit tricky to find as tucked away - when you think you are in the wrong place you are probably in the correct place, just walk up the few steps!

Overall was good value for the money and the kitchen was generally well equipped so able to cook quite easily (but needs a new tin opener and a sharp knife!).

I would stay again if in the area.

“Charming cottage in a great location”
Reviewed August 29, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The cottage was thoughtfully decorated and we appreciated the welcoming bottle of wine and sweet treats. It was a great base for visiting the Peaks District and enjoying the town of Bakewell. Parking was a bit tricky and the second bedroom had very little room for our luggage. These small issues were outweighed by the other positives. We had htree generations of family and it worked well for everyone.

“Lovely cottage - great location and comfortable accommodation”
Reviewed August 1, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Really enjoyed our stay at Peak Cottage. The cottage is beautiful - clean and cosy, plenty of room and had everything we needed for a week away - including a bottle of wine, scones and a doggy treat on arrival. Thank you! (One tip - do ask Debra for instructions on how to find the cottage, it's very tucked away!)
