“Lovely week away”
Reviewed 28 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This property is well positioned between Matlock and Bakewell and is comfortable, very clean and Cherry provides everything you need for a self catering holiday. There is a steep flight of steps up to The Hayloft which was no bother to us but could be an issue to anyone with mobility problems. We had a most relaxing break and would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others. Suggest you try The Ashford Arms in Ashford in the Water for a meal - great food, large portions and good price (baby rack of ribs was fantastic)

Thank you very much for your kind review. Anyone not wanting to climb the steps to The Hayloft should consider booking Bumble Bee Barn which is my other property all on ground floor level.

“Great base in which to visit the historic houses and explore the beautiful Peak District”
Reviewed 1 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

The Hayloft was a very cozy and comfortable place to stay. We really enjoyed it and found it a great base as was near to all of the things we wished to do, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall. Bakewell and Matlock were within a short distance for shops and amenities.

We loved watching the birds in the courtyard and found it very peaceful and relaxing. The fresh eggs were great too!

“Fabulous!”
Reviewed 16 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Perfect place to unwind and relax.
Beautiful setting, everything you needed was in the accommodation, but nice pub only 10 min walk away too with good food.
We only came on weekend break but would definitely come back for longer next time.
Thank you Cherry.

“Ideal location to explore the beautiful Peak District”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This was a lovely converted hayloft that was a good size for 2 people. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything I needed and it had a full size fridge freezer. The small open plan living space has been utilized well and included a dining table. The bedroom looks very quaint and has an on-suite shower room, there is plenty of space to store clothing. The steps to get into the property are steep but you soon get used to them. The garden is lovely and you can also walk down to the field and see the hens. The local pub is about a mile away but it is down quite a steep hill so prepare for a good walk or take the car (like us!!). We had taken the mountain bikes and completed two local bike trails (Monsal & Tissington) and this was an ideal location to explore. Overall, a very nice holiday property in a private location and we would definitely stay again.

“A little gem!”
Reviewed 19 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

A lovely little apartment in the heart of Derbyshire with Chatsworth, Matlock, Bakewell, and Dovedale (and lots more) on the doorstep. Set in a beautiful country garden - a real labour of love - with lots of great walks near by. With fresh eggs every day this little gem was a real find. The Derbyshire Dales and Peak take some beating.
