We have just returned from a weekend at Barn Farm. Lovely site, well maintained. The showers were hot and very clean. The toilets are very clean too, only downside is that they don't refill very fast so can become blocked if a lot of people are using them.

Ice cream van comes on the site each day, however be warned he is quite pricey!

We were a party of 6 families and the large field was huge so we could all set up camp together with no problems.

There are 2 pubs closeby that we didn't go to but both serve food.

The peacocks, cows and alpacas were a hit with the kids and also the farmyard dog who absolutely loved being stroked by them.

Overall a great site, however the security man lets them down. They have a no noise policy after 10.30pm and he came to us at 10.25pm asking us to turn the music off which we happily did. We then sat quietly by the fire chatting and he came back to say he could here us from the top field..he definitely could not, I went to the toilet block and back a number of times and couldn't hear a thing even when at the next tent along. It seems he uses the 'I can hear you at the top field' regularly. He put quite a dampener on our evening as we were constantly worrying about how loud our voices were and ended up whispering to each other at 10.45pm .I completely understand this is a family site which is why we chose it but the attitude of this man wasn't good. He was extremely rude.

Overall very good camping trip.

A busy but well equipped campsite set in beautiful scenery. The first campsite I've been to which actually enforces the "no noise" policy (security on site requesting music to be turned off at the required time). Loads of children running around so probably not a site for couples wanting a quiet break but great for families.

Decent facilities which were fairly clean. A well-stocked shop. A good play area.

Don't forget your ear plugs or you'll hear the owls at night and the cows and cockerels at first light!

Lovely well kept site with good clean facilities.

Lots of space and quiet in the week. Much busier at the weekends when the large group camping field is open great atmosphere though, but facilities are then stretched. All facilities are very regularly cleaned to a high standard.

Access to good walks from the campsite and two good pubs in the village within an easy walk. Both serve food and you can get takeaway delivered from Bakewell.

Only downside is that it is quite hilly and you might have to sleep on a slope!

Loved our stay at Barn Farm, you can pick your own pitch so get there early if you want a particular spot. The staff are lovely, facilities and great and at the weekends they have activities on site for the kids - mine loved the climbing wall and the instuctors were ace, there's a van on site offering bacon butties and hot drinks and an indoor barn to shelter if it's really wet. There are wild peacocks on site which are absolutely beautiful but very, very loud. Was woken pretty early by their calls, don't let it put you off though, we will definitely be back but with peacock proof earplugs !

Seven of us decided to go camping.. Facilities on site were excellent, clean showers and toilets and a shop and games room for things to do and buy. Two pubs also within walking distance which is good. Had a great time!
