This is an excellent property to stay in all the home comforts needed and very helpful owners. The area is also stunning with a variety of places nearby to visit during your stay. I would definitely recommend this holiday cottage and would stay there again with no hesitation.

Six of us including 4 kids between 6-12 stayed for a week. Lovely cottage which has all mod cons for comfortable family living. We used it as a base for exploring near and far. Great garden for nightly games of football after a day out at nearby Alton Towers theme park. Nigel and family were very friendly (when they could catch us!). Great for exploring the peak district or further afield. Limited phone coverage on 3 but managed to get on internet through BT openzone. which we needed for bookings/planning the next days activities. Would be a very peaceful retreat also but served us wonderfully as a base for hectic fun filled days out in the attractions in Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Good value too. Highly recommended.

“Pretty country cottage on a farm, set in lovely countryside.”

The house is a lovely stone cottage, converted from an old coach house. The old pub it belongs to has also been converted into a house which is just beside it. The house is well equipped and comfortable with a small garden where we enjoyed eating, and a larger garden with room for children to play. Aldwark is a small hamlet, up a narrow lane, but very central with lots of places to visit: Cromford, Matlock Bath, Bakewell, Dovedale, etc.. We really enjoyed our short stay, wish it could have been longer.

Liked least: The double bedroom does not have a proper door, it has three walls and where the fourth would be there is a curtain.
