Stumbled upon this treasure while walking the streets of Dingle. Loved the stained glass windows and views from high above.

We came to Dingle in part to see these wonderful stained glass windows by Irish Arts & Crafts movement leader Harry Clarke. The windows are exquisite. The rest of the site . . . well, not so much.

The windows are part of a former convent. You can see some from the pictures, but they have an arts and crafts into Art Deco feel, with six scenes from the New Testament, such as the Sermon on the Mount and others. You'll want to admire the fine detail and style.

The entrance fee is reasonable, but make sure you get the guide (they basically lend it to you) with a description of each of the windows. My favorite was the one about Christ with the children. There isn't one of the passion, but there is one of the resurrection. Look at the detail in the faces, robes, and buildings in particular.

The rest of the building needs a little work. The rest of the artwork isn't up to the windows and one room in particular felt like it was used for cast-off furniture as well as an unremarkable mural.

If you are in Dingle or touring the Dingle Peninsula, this is worth a stop. There isn't much more than the windows, however.

Inspiring and little know about by the public until a few years ago. We found the caretaker Paudie to be most friendly and helpful. Certainly worth a visit.

We were lucky enough to visit here on a sunny day, so the windows showed at their best. This is a well-done exhibit, and we enjoyed walking the gardens and labyrinth after our visit.
