2 night mid-week stay in Cobh

Hotel is in an excellent location, however rooms with maritime views are limited-best to book these well in advance but expect to pay a premium.Very handy to train station and views over Cobh/Cork harbour areas are spectacular-always something going on.Cruise liners regularly dock only yards from rear of Hotel.Unfortunately the Hotel is let down by attention to detail;1.There is vegetation growing out of the guttering/roof of Hotel is covered in moss.A good clean with a power hose would work wonders!!2.The outside of the windows were filthy and need more regular cleaning.3.Internal double glazed bathroom window units/ fitting need replaced as they are rusty.
Date of stay: May 2017
Room Tip: Best views at rear, but rooms limited.Front rooms close to main road outside and are probably...

My friend had bought a a voucher off a website so it was a special offer price. She was taking me out as a treat so I couldn't really complain... The sandwiches were plain chicken, cheese on Soda bread and a kind of tomato salad sandwich. They were the size of a thumb. The middle plate had those mini muffins that you get in a box in aldi or lidl, a small bunch of grapes in the middle and a few plain profiteroles. Up the top then we're scones that had been heated in the microwave and we're definitely not homemade. There were 2 shortbread biscuits thrown up the top too. The best bit was the glass of prosecco.

This is an excellent property. The view from the rooms out into the harbor is phenomenal. The staff is very attentive and excellent. It is within walking distance to the Titanic exhibit and experience and the queenstown immigration exhibit.

Upon arrival to this gorgeous boutique hotel , we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady , advised of the underground car park and issued with our room key. Not being a huge fan of ground floor rooms , I was a tad disappointed to realise we were staying on the ground floor . But did I change my mind when I entered the room ..a fabulously large bedroom awaited us with an added sitting room adjoining it ( complete with twin beds , which I'm sure doubles as a family room during high season) To add to our delight we had a private deck from which we had magnificent views across the bay . Also we were delighted to discover a full sized luxurious bathroom, no small poky, dark en suite here !!
We dined in the hotel restaurant on our first evening " Jacobs Ladder" which we thouroughly enjoyed. The food was delicious and there was Prosecco on tap , what more could I ask for ! The breakfasts were hearty and plenty of choice was available from the buffet along with the hot menu.
The staff were all so pleasant and helpful and the ambience in the hotel was wonderful. Because it's quite a small hotel , it has retained that " family feel" that's not in many of the larger hotels .
Bravo to the management and staff of Watersedge , it's truly a delightful establishment and we will certainly be back

My husband and I were spending one day in Cobh on our way back to Dublin, and decided on the Watersedge Hotel. We had a room facing the harbor. It was cozy and as described on the website. We will return next year with friends. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and the portion were generous. Overall a great value.

I have already reviewed "The Waters Edge Hotel" restaurant last year. I came back to Ireland for a break and returned here to eat as it was so good before.

A great spot on the waterfront, with tables inside and out and a lovely atmosphere.

Well I have to say standards have been maintained if not improved and actually this time in my week in Cork I returned here twice, it was that good.

Both times it was busy, always a good sign, but they fitted us in. The food was excellent and the service 1st class.

All the staff were polite, efficient and friendly. Karen particularly stood out for me, her natural way with the customers made you feel very welcome, it was the same with everyone, nothing was to much trouble, a really asset to this business.

I highly recommend this restaurant, if you are in Cork make the effort to go, I'm sure won't be disappointed.
