The Commodore Hotel is an elegant Georgian building, though it is old it adds to the charm. The rooms are spacious, clean, warm and comfortable. .A home from home with a relaxing atmosphere.
the staff from housekeeping, dining room, bar and reception are a credit to the establishment, being courteous, smling and always helpful.
The food is excellent and very reasonable.
Have stayed there on several occassions, and hope to return very soon,
Well done to the management, to Eoin and indeed all the staff.

Stephen & Marian,
Thank you kindly for your comments. The hotel is definitely “Old World Charm” compared to the more modern build’s, which we feel adds to it’s uniqueness.
We are delighted you could experience the “home away from home” atmosphere we are trying to convey to our guests.
Thank you for your kind words about Eoin and all the team here,
Regards,
Robert Fitzpatrick

The hotel maybe older but her bones are lovely and reminded us of another elegant era. Staff were very informative/helpful and professional. (Secured parking pointed out points of interest, suggested we not miss the Titanic Memorial.)

Room Tip: As for a front room, some street noise from bar below on weekend but after closing it is quiet. Sit...

We checked in here on 27 th of April for 1 night, we got a good cheap booking on booking.com. We arrived at reception and asked where car park was as we needed to park car she said it was full and park on the road way free till 9 am so we said the website stated parking was available and no reservation needed. She got manager and they found s a space and they also upgraded our room to the sea view so we were happy enough. The room was warm which was great as it was cold outside. Ample supply of towels etc bed omfortable rooms need upgrading and so does tv as it was a portable . We ate out that night in trade winds restaurant very very nice. The hotel was adequate for a 2 star but needs modernisation.

This hotel is good, not great. Its winning feature are the "Sea view" rooms that overlook the boardwalk and Cork harbour. We woke up the next morning to beautiful views of the water and Spike island. You also get to see ships approaching the harbour which I enjoyed.

The room itself was large and ok, a bit dingy. Bed wasn't comfortable.
Parking for the hotel is also a bit down the road and pretty small. It takes a 20 euro deposit to park there.
Staff were nice, nothing really notable.

We got a good deal which was still a bit pricey, but it was the week before the Titanic anniversary.

Breakfast is included and was pretty good as well.

Overall I'd stay here again. It is probably the best location to stay in Cobh. I agree with a previous reviewer that it is probably more a 3 star than a 2 star.

Room Tip: Get a sea view room, anything else would just not be worth it

The Commodore is a hotel steeped in history..so don't go expecting boutique hotel glamour! What you will get is a stunning setting overlooking Cork Harbour, good food and the friendliest staff you will ever encounter..particularly at reception and in the restaurant. Booking a seaview room is a must. I have stayed at the Commodore several times in a variety of rooms and all are very spacious and clean. The place has a real sense of history..being a feature in the town of Cobh for more than 100 years..and very much has an air of faded grandeur about it. But to me that just adds to the romance of the place. Who wants to lay their head in a soulless box? Not me. All in all I would highly recommend a stay at the Commodore for business or leisure and anticipate returning very soon. Keep up the good work guys!

Room Tip: You MUST book a seaview room..the harbour views are just amazing

We drove over from Kilarney to see the 100 year anniversary of the Titanic. While in town we stopped in for a pint and some food in the bar. We had a great lunch and service and the prices were very reasonable. We would recommend stopping by if for nothing else just to see the old hotel for the history.
