We stayed in a cabin here for 2 nights, with our 3yr old and 5yr old.
Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience at Slieve Aughty. From the moment we checked in there was no smile or introduction to the place and we were made to feel unwelcome.
Our cabin could be lovely if someone cared for it, but instead the bedroom door was hanging off its hinges, the duvet was too small for the bed, the curtains were falling down and were too small for the windows anyway. There was lovely candles all around, but there were all burnt out and had not been replaced.
The rest of the weekend continued in similar fashion. It was entirely chaotic and unfortunately nobody really seemed to care other than one lady that served the beautiful breakfasts.
The food was lovely and the children enjoyed the horses greatly, but the accomodation was horribly overpriced and even at 25% of the cost it would've been overpriced.
I was checked out by Esther, the owner. I would've liked to feed things back personally to her rather than via tripadvisor, but she never once asked if we'd enjoyed ourselves or if we or the children had a good time. Clearly, the disastrous running of the place comes from the top - she doesn't care.
