We had a lovely time in this B&B. We had the spacious loft room. This B&B had a real character to it - with a funky decor and located in the centre of Athlone, a block from Sean's Bar - purportedly the oldest pub in Europe. The hosts were really nice and helpful, giving us great advice for our travels for the following day. Great breakfast and would highly recommend this B&B if you are passing through Athlone!

Lovely old place in a great location next to Sean's Bar. Rooms very unique and clean. Stayed in top room with double and single. Only thing is the single bed room was very bright at night due to the b and b being right next to a set of street lights. More blinds are required. Other than that a great stay. Breakfast was fine. Fresh fruit, cereal, bread a cheeses. A change from the bacon and eggs every morning. Friendly hosts, decent wifi connection

Found this B&B by accident (recommended by local pub owner). Just up the street from shopping, restaurants and sights. Very clean, quaint, and friendly helpful hosts. The B&B is in an older building--lots of stairs, probably not easy for anyone with mobility issues, but well worth the effort. Rooms are spacious and charming. Althone in general is a great city--lots of sightseeing within walking distance. Oldest pub in Ireland located here!

Just spent 3 nights with family group, in the Bastion.
Very happy with the whole weekend, nice quirky B&B, and very chilled atmosphere.
People commented on the breakfast in other reviews, but found a light breakfast was good for us, as we had been eating out all weekend, and would have found a cooked breakfast too much.

Found the location great, Seans bar at the bottom of the street!
.
Would be happy to stay again, anytime!

I loved this B&B. The owners were very friendly but not too in your face. In the morning the one guy gave up his own coffee press to me so I could have some right away. The house itself was funky and inviting. I kind of want to decorate my own home to match. Great location in the city and the Lebanese house nearby was wonderful.
