Had recently heard this hotel had been taken over, decided to go there for a Valentines night meal, everything was lovely from the glass of champagne, flower for the lady and heart decorations on every table. Dinner was €25 each and was excellent. The following Saturday night we agreed to meet friends in the bar, what a disapointment, two tv's in the small bar area and they were wired for sound to speakers on the ceiling, so even if you did not watch the tv , you still had to listen to it, out on the lobby is a huge flat screen tv, it was so out of place, as the lobby is really pretty. Talked to people who had booked in for the weekend for relaxation and walks and they were very upset, as they had booked what they thought was a rural retreat. The highlight of the night was the cheese and bacon bagle, when it arrived the bottom was black, you could smell the burning, on the side was a leaf of lettuce with a huge dollop of mayonaise. It is a pity that they cannot bring the restaurant type food into the bar, and retain its old world charm. Could'nt fault the service or staffMore
