When we got to the B&B, Jo showed us the room, and the bathroom across the hall that was to be for our use only. Nothing seemed amiss on our initial inspection. The room was a bit shabby looking but seemed clean enough--same for the bathroom. There was also free WiFi in the room.
About a half hour after arriving, I went to use our restroom. When I raised the toilet lid, it was obvious the toilet hadn't been cleaned (think poo on the seat, etc.). I was pretty upset about this, but it was early in the day, and we thought Jo might not have gotten around to cleaning the bathroom yet. We went out for a few hours. When we got back, the bathroom was still in the same state. Ick!
The house rubbish bin was stored right outside our window. At some point, it was opened up. After that, our room smelled overpoweringly of rotten meat for the rest of the night.
We could hear everything from the other rooms. Each room has a window above the door, so if anyone has a light on in there room, the light shines into your room, making it hard to sleep.
We were so creeped out by this place, we were afraid of breakfast. It turned out to be okay. We wouldn't recommend the sausages with the full Irish breakfast though--not good.
Jo was not very professional. She was overbearing and didn't seem to respect personal space. We made sure to keep our door locked at all times as she seemed perfectly willing to pop in at any moment.
Don't stay here. There must be nicer places around.
