Had dinner here during my holiday in Ballyvaughan it’s newly refurbished to a high standard. The food was excellent and staff were attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere in the pub.

We stopped in for lunch and had some great seafood, my wife got the smoked salmon with brown bread and I the fish and chips. They were the best fish and chips I had in Ireland.

Visited Monks twice on a busy Saturday evening. The Guinness wasn't particularly good but nevertheless, as customers over many years, we decided to return later for dinner. When we arrived, no tables were available (which was fine) but the offhand manner in which were dealt with by the manageress was very disappointing. We decided to eat elsewhere and so cannot comment on the quality of the food but we certainly hope that the attention to detail in the kitchen surpasses that of our front of house experience.

We really wish Monks the very best and hope that it can return to the standard of the old days but our experience suggests that a greater emphasis on the nature of their customer interaction would be an appropriate place to start.

Monks of Ballyvaughan is a restaurant that I have been going to for many years . I first went there when the previous owner Michael Monks had it . It has always been renowned for fresh fish and seafood . The standards are as high now with the new owners as they were all those years ago . Has to be recommended
