We were treated like king and queen every where in the castle. Loved our stay! The room was beautiful with a shower that was amazing. Housekeeping was excellent and so immaculate. Food was delicious and wait staff was attentive.

My husband’s company generously hosted us at the Dromoland Castle for a business event. Everything from the food to the hospitality to the incredible castle setting was more than we could imagine. Definitely hope we can return again to enjoy every aspect of this incredible Ireland gem

Upon arriving at Dromoland you drive in at the rear of the castle, and past the leisure Center, Golf center, and gift shop. Continue straight and then to the right, and you see the front of the castle. When we visited there was a lot of renovations going on inside and outside the castle, however, it did not effect our visit. I heard the pool was going to be renovated in the near future. There is a lot of property to explore, a walled garden, golf, swimming, gym, row boats, tennis, and peddle cars for kids. The pool and gym are located in the leisure center. You must walk there, drive or have a staff member drive you. If you have children under 16 please VERIFY the time they can use the pool. It is part of a private membership, so there are restrictions. An awesome experience was the Falconry. I would highly recommend it. The guide spent a solid 1.5 hours with our family. Very fun and informative. A hands on experience. Our rooms was a connection room. One Queen and two doubles. It worked out great. The rooms faced the courtyard. They were big and spacious. The bar is very quaint, and had live music. Casual food is service there until 7 or 8 pm. After that casual food can be eaten in another dining area, close by. There were games available for family to play. There were several restaurants also. The one in the golf center was more casual also. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a timely manner.
The castle is an easy drive to Ennis. 13 kilometersaway.A great town that needs to be explored. FYI there is fabulous restaurant called the Cloisters in town. It is a must! Best food and service during our entire trip. Also if, you are traveling for more then a week and need to do laundry there was a great place called Rainbow Cleaners on Francis Street. They washed and folded 6 medium size bags of laundry for 35 euro. Dropped off in the morning, done by 3pm. When you arrive at the front gate to Dromoland Castle, you know you are in for a treat. As we drove up to the castle there golf course in on both sides. You past the golf club house on the right which as a restaurant, a fitness center, steam room, sauna and a lovely pool. There are changing rooms available also. The golf clubhouse is a short walk from the castle, it they do provide shuttle service. On the left is a
There is a large set of stone stairs. After you check in, your car will be valeted and your luggage will be taken to your room with you by the bellman. Currently there is construction going on on the property, but it really doesn’t hamper the charm of the castle. There are so many hall ways and areas to explore. There are two casual dining options and one formal option. Food and service is great! There is a small quaint bar that has music at night.
Our rooms are large and airy. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is decent size. There is a towel warmer in the bathroom. The only issue we have is that the hot water does not get hot. It is only warm. I like hot showers, so even though the water pressure is awesome the shower was quick. We have adjoining rooms here, 317 and 318. Both showers did not get hot. 318 has a king bed. 317 Has 2 doubles.
Robes and slippers are provided, as well as turn down service.
We are 10 minutes from Bunratty Castle. In Ennis is an Aldi, Dunnes, And Tesco. There was a clothing store called Penny’s also.
Gas was about $1.22 diesel per liter. It took $90 euro to fill the tank.
We originally booked 2 nights, it quickly changed plans and added one more night.
The staff we met were professional and friendly. There are no luggage carts, however the bellman will take care of your luggage to and from your room. There is valet service or you can park your own car in a rear parking lot not far from the entrance, however, valet is super fast and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at Dromoland and would recommend this to anyone! Our one night was a great midway break during our 8-day road-trip around the south of Ireland. The staff is excellent, very friendly, and cater to every need. The Pony and Trap excursion with Sean Kilkenny was a highlight - informative and entertaining!!
