I have been going here since I was a child. It is a lovely clean beach and the place is just so peaceful and great place for an evening stroll.

Miles and miles of soft white sand...great to get a run in and smell the fresh salt air. Ross Beach is approx. 3 miles from Killala, you could walk there if your really looking for a work out !!

Check out Ross Beach for a stroll on a good day. The beach has parking for 20 or so cars in a well maintained car park. Beach lifeguards monitor the beach if you want a swim. Chill out and relax and watch the beautiful Mayo scenery

This is a great flat, sandy beach for walkers, families and those who want to hang out on the gorgeous Atlantic shore! It's about 2 miles from Killala and is well serviced, loos, picnic benches, life guard during high season etc. There's a great loop walk/climb if you turn left when you come on to the beach. It brings you around the shore line and it's a bit rocky in parts but nothing too difficult - it finishes on the incredibly beautiful and still secret 'back beach' or CBI beach.... then a short walk back to the car park. Takes about an hour all in, unless you want to stop on a silent sandy hammock for a bit of ocean gazing or meditation, then it could take you all day! Great on sunny days if you have kids and want easy access to the water in a safe beach environment, and other kids to play with.... there's a lovely vibe, and even on a busy day, it's never that busy ;-)

Not the nicest beach for a swim - no waves and a few rocks. Lifeguard on duty but will never be needed. Sorry I like waves.
