The lodge was well equipped but it was not clean, the attitude of the manager was not professional and she was very rude and ignorant. The site owner however, was brilliant and tried her best to rectify our complaints but it was too late into our short break and we were very disappointed overall.
Stonerush Valley was the perfect getaway for us as a family of 3 but would be just as brilliant with a group, we would definitely return here. We wanted to travel in the evening and we arrived at around midnight, the key safe arrangement was perfect for us and it also meant not having to worry about keys when going out for the day as well.
The pub on site was excellent, cosy and brilliant service with delicious food.
The hot tub was a great bonus and it was lovely to see them being looked after on a daily basis. The kitchen was perfectly equipped and lots of thought and detail has been put into the things available in the lodge. From games and books to kitchen roll and food bags. We had robes and slippers too which was lovely.
Our little boy loved the freedom of being able to go outside onto the decking and the squirrel that came to visit each evening, the space in the lodge meant he felt confident to start walking!
We were pretty much in the middle of everything we wanted to see, we didn't mind a car journey to the attractions as we wanted to stay in a quiet rural place. We visited Newquay, The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Helligan, Lappa Steam Railway and many more places.
