Watching from the balcony as dolphins, fish & jellyfish swim around in front of the house was absolutely amazing. I will miss sitting on the balcony gazing out to sea.
The house is very nicely decroated and the showers are fantastic - even the outside one which comes in very handy with a sandy three year old. Perfectly situated for my mum with an very short walk to the beach. There are a few steps on the way to the beach but we managed to carry baby in pushchair down them easily. The beach is perfect for children with shady areas under the trees and very shallow water when the tide is in.
Only tiny thing I'd highlight is that the glass on top of the side table (made from driftwood) in the living area isn't stuck in place - which is fine if you don't have a 10 month old who wants to pull themselves up on everything. Easily solved though, we just removed it for the week and put it somewhere out of reach, then replaced it when we left.
Our first site of the boathouse was from a little restaurant across the beach where my sister and our husbands met before it was time to check in. Even though we had seen pictures of the boathouse the reality of its perfect setting right on the beach and surrounded by beautiful wooded cliffs was so exciting.
We certainly weren't disappointed as we entered and saw the amazing view through the huge picture window, cleverly mirrored on the opposite wall. Kevin's welcome pack and lovely flowers were the icing on the cake. The rest of the accommodation was immaculate with a fantastic kitchen kitted out to a very high standard.
The location of the boathouse was perfect for a wide range of activities; however we didn't need to travel far and really enjoyed visiting nearby gardens and castles and
going for lovely walks along the cliffs and of course the amazing beach!
We ate out a few times and can recommend The Ship for evening meals and Aqua and the Art Gallery for lunches.
