“Excellent house in a very nice location”
Reviewed May 12, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We used the house as a base for exploring the Sorrentinian peninsula, including the Amalfi coast, Hercelaneum and Pompeii. For this purpose the house was great. We had a rental car and used that for most excursions, however the Circumvesuviana trains are reachable by foot from the house in fifteen minutes or so.

The town of Vico Equense quickly became our favourite on the peninsula. At least when we were there there were not many, if any, foreign Tourists, rendering a very genuine touch to the town. While other towns, such as Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi are very affected by tourists, Vico Equense is not. This does not mean that there is a lack of restaurants, cafés and gelaterias. There are quite a few nice places to eat and relax.

We loved the open first floor of the house with a kitchen dinig table and couch in an open space and its direct access to the beatuiful terrace, through big glass doors. From the terrace there is a nice view of the lemon plantations in the valley below, the small marina and the sea. We had sun at the terrace from about 10 in the morning until sunset. The Three bedrooms at the second floor were all great, although the two generous bedrooms with the same view as from the terrace are of course the top ones.

You should note that the house is actually an apartment that is half a house, with separate entrances and terraces. During our stay noone were staying at the neighbouring apartment and we had full privacy around the house.

We really enjoyed our stay, thanks to the house, the town of Vico Equense and thanks to the very generous and welcoming hosts, Flora and Claudio, who provided excellent service both when booking, before the arrival, at the arrival and departure.

“Beautiful villa, perfect location for the sights”
Reviewed April 18, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We came to stay at Villa Flora with my parents and my teenaged children for a week of sightseeing. Vico Equense is the perfect base for all the sights and the villa is a 15min walk to the station which was perfect. You don't need a car at all. Plenty of restaurants and bars too. The villa is in a gated community so we felt safe. It is typically Italian inside and had beautiful views from the terrace and balconies. Claudio and Flora were so welcoming and hospitable .
I would highly recommend this villa.

Thank you Claire for your beautiful feedback As you said, Villa Flora is in a strategic position to visit all Sorrento and Amalfi Coast and also Pompei, Ercolano, Vesuvius, Capri, Ischia, Ravello and Naples.
It is near the Centre of Vico Equense, where you can find all shops, supermarket, grocery, the bus and the train station and it is also 10 minutes by foot from the sea.
During the breakfast or the dinner on the Villa Flora terrace, you can admire the wonderful view of Seiano Bay. Villa Flora is into a private park with a Keaper and has a private parking area for 2 cars.
Thank you again and see you soon again in Vico Equense and in Villa Flora.
Bye

“Amazingly perfect in every way!”
Reviewed April 14, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Vico Equense will be the new place to visit. There is NO downside to this beautiful villa, the location, or the landlord. Perfect in every way. The train and busses are at your disposable for a nominal charge to travel up and down the Sorrento Coast. Hire a driver for the Amalfi Coast. Great restaurants and food in town. The Villa itself is beautiful, spacious, clean, and with a stupdendous view. The landlords are wonderful, helpful, and go out of their way to ensure a great time in their property and in the area.
Everything you need or want is here.

Thank you for the things that you told us: "Villa Flora is a beautifully decorated house, with nice ceramic trimings and accessories everywhere. The terrace is large and beautiful, with its tree right in the middle and flowers all around. Wonderful views of the valley, the rocky cliff on the other side, and the spectacular sunset on the ocean. The hosts are very dedicated and made sure we had everything we needed." See you again in the future!

“Villa Flora is "THE" place to stay in Vico Equense”

A lovely villa in perfect location! The pictures give you the idea how nice it is, but the reality is even better:) The views from Villa Flora are breathtaking!

You can trust the testimonials and there is not much one can add... Villa Flora is so well equipped, the location is great and Flora & Claudio such helpful, sympa persons!

With Flora and Claudio everything goes smoothly; they reply quickly to your e-mails and give you all the necessary details. When there, they are easy reachable. Claudio even picked us up from the train station and when leaving, dropped us off. Great communication and great service. Claudio is multilingual, so that makes communication easy.

Vico Equense is a lovely town and location is perfect for exploring the coast. But for us Vico Equense was the place to be, where it was great to relax and just enjoy!

It is easy to recommend this villa to everyone. We can't wait to return. Grazie/thanks/merci!

“WOW!!!”
Reviewed April 30, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

What a fantastic place and fantastic views! Where to start? The villa is perfectly positioned in the centre of Vico Equense, but so quiet that you are completely sheltered from the noise. It has everything you need, it is fully self-contained and has two gorgeous bathrooms tiled with the local, hand-painted Vietri Sul Mare (a must visit for souvenir shoppers) tiles. It is designed most carefully to suit the needs of the fussiest guest! If you want to cook your meals, all the equipment and utensils are there. If you want to dine out, Vico has many places for you to try. Wonderful hosts Claudio and Flora will inform you about everything, including the best pizza, pasta and gelato (Gabriele, which is the easy the best gelato we've ever tried), in the town. The house and the parking are in the secure complex and you will not have to worry about anything. The balcony was a treat! It was great for a morning coffee, breakfast and soaking in the sun. The views are just breathtaking and not only from the terrace, but from bedrooms too. The beach is also near by. This place also has a parking, which was great as it is so hard to find one in this area. We visited Sorrento, Ravello, Positano, Praiano and went on another side to Naples, Mt Vesuvius, and Caserta, but after all the hassle and noise, we were happy to come back to the quite place, to Villa Flora. The place is located only 10 km from Sorrento, around 20 km from Positano, around 40 km from Naples, so it is easy to reach. All the info regarding the train time tables was in the house and the bus stop is close by. We recommend the car as it was a great drive through Amalfi Coast and we managed to see all the little towns and little gems which we were not able to find in any book. There's a hydrofoil to Capri from May, but in April we caught the ferry from Sorrento. And last but not least, Claudio and Flora were the perfect hosts, relaxed and very kind! They explained the area and the surroundings so well that we felt we were residents there. Their recommendations prove to be spot on and they gave us great tips for shopping as well, like ceramics and pottery in Vietri Sul Mare. After Claudio hinted he was thinking of building the pool, this place is surely going to see us more often!

“Beautiful Villa with Stunning Views and lovely owners”
Reviewed September 26, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Flora. Everything has been thought about in this villa and it had everything you could possibly need. It comes very well equipped and decorated in a beautiful style. There was air conditioning in every room, a dishwasher, dishwasher tablets, washing machine, mosquito plugs, internet connection via a usb dongle, pasta and oil, plentiful glasses, cutlery plates etc, candles and so on, really we wanted for nothing!! The Villa was decorated in a lovely style and a lot of effort has clearly gone into getting the villa just right. The beds were super comfortable and the storage plentiful which I find refreshing in a rented villa.

The views were absolutely stunning and we enjoyed having drinks on the terrace watching the sun go down over the sea. Flora has hung beautiful lanterns on the olive tree (a central feature on the terrace) this is a beautiful touch and added to the ambience when sat out on a evening. There are a number of outside areas so it is always possible to get the sun and the shade when needed.

Vico Equense itself was a lovely Italian town. It is very central to arrive on the train or airport bus directly from Naples. Transport links are good being able to visit the Amalfi coast, Pompeii, Sorrento easily. Vico centres around a nice square with plentiful tasty eating options on the surrounding streets, we thoroughly vic street and Il ritrovo degli Amici restaurants. There are beautiful views from Vico across to Vesuvius. We much preferred Vico to Sorrento as it was less touristic and felt like you were staying in a pretty Italian town where people lived and worked rather than a mainly tourist destination. The villa is less than a ten minute walk with a slight hill from Vico and about five minutes downhill to the seafront. One of our party has some mobility difficulties and managed the hill okay slowly.

The owners of the villa, Flora and Claudio, were very personable and kind and went out of their way to make our holiday go as smoothly and enjoyable as possible. Claudio offered to pick the bags up from the train station. The cleaner also kindly offered to pick up our bags on the morning we left and dropped them at the station for us. Flora and Claudio also provided us with helpful information about the area prior to arrival and their communication via email was prompt and clear. Upon arrival the couple spent time familiarising us with the property so we knew everything we needed to about the villa.

In summary the Villa is lovely with everything you could want, Flora and Claudio have thought of everything. The views are spectacular, the town pretty and the transport links good what more could you ask for. We shall no doubt be back!
