We stayed here for 2 nights and from the moment we walked in the door we were warmly greeted and treated like family.
The whole experience from checking in, our room (stunning!), drinks at the bar to breakfast is one I would highly receommend and a must if you are staying here in Bideford.
Our hosts John and Ilona could not have been more helpful with every aspect of our visit.
Please don't miss this experience, everything was perfect !

Room Tip: Our stunning room had a view of the lake....Beautiful !!

What a hidden gem! Everything was perfect from the friendly greeting and welcome drink to the lovely room and relaxed late breakfast and check out. John gave good instructions to walk into Bideford for the NYE festivities and was a charming host for our nightcap back at the hotel.

John and IIona have got it spot on here, modern touches like comfy pillows and power shower while retaining the beautiful charm and history of the house.
We had Kingsley room, gorgeous views of the river and everything in it we could possibly need.

We will definitely be back for a summer visit to enjoy the immaculate beautiful gardens.

It has always been difficult to find good accommodation (away from home) with a dog. Travellers with dogs are often treated like second class citizens! We were pleasantly welcome at Yeoldon House with our little dog during our stay - which we appreciated.

The owners Ilona & John were gracious hosts, friendly, nothing-too-much-trouble and had the can-do attitude to their hotel. The hotel is in a secluded location overlooking the river, with beautiful and well maintained gardens. There were plenty of parking spaces.

Our room was probably not the top ones in the hotel, but it was clean, bright with windows on 2 sides, had a comfortable bed with limited views. The bathroom is small but very functional, shower over bath and the water pressures for the shower were very good - much better than in a lot of B&B / hotels we have stayed in the UK (always a bone of contention for me when the water pressures trickled under a shower!) The owners have done repairs and refurbishments to the hotel since taken it over.

With a dog, we were not allowed to have breakfasts in the restaurant area - which we fully understand. Ilona set up a table for us outside - which was very much appreciated (the weather was nice during our stay).

After we booked and before our arrival, Ilona emailed us 2 dog friendly pubs in the area. We went to both for dinners - one accepted reservation, but the other did not. The meals at both were very nice, and no problem with having our dog in the bar areas.

Stay here if you travel with a little dog and spend time exploring the beautiful surrounding areas - or just enjoy the hotel gorgeous gardens overlooking the river, and chat to the wonderful hosts.

Just come back from a lovely weekend staying at Yeoldon House Hotel a precursor to our Honeymoon Holiday next weekend in Florida !
Yes after 12 years I said yes and we finally got married on the 1st October!
So we had intended to take a mini break after the wedding but luck we had it that my darling new husband had to be on call for his work that that put an end to that!
We had already booked at Yeoldon House and we asked if we could delay our stay until last weekend and the proprietor John was happy to do this.
On our arrival late Friday evening John greeted us warmly and offered a warm welcoming drink and help with our bags.
They had kindly upgraded us to a beautiful front facing bedroom with four poster bed!
Everyone and everything was perfect apart from the weather lol!
We had a lovely time facilities are great and service top notch so highly recommended.
Don't take out word for it go try it for yourselves you won't be disappointed promise!
Enjoy the images
