Had purchased an afternoon tea on Groupon so instead of £20 a head we paid just over £8. We were welcomed warmly and the table was set for us. Drinks were served promptly and refills available. The afternoon tea had a nice variety of sandwiches/scones and cakes - also an Eton Mess which was lovely!
The restaurant was very quiet which was a shame, as it seemed a nice environment but maybe due to the current situation (Covid 19) people are not making plans.
All in all a relaxing time, chatty staff and lovely food - will definitely return.

We stayed here for two nights in October and would recommend it. The staff (Nathan, Ben, Tony, Ishbel) couldn't have been friendlier and it was easy to book. We went for dinner, bed and breakfast, and found it was excellent value. The downstairs was all recently refurbished and very pleasant. Upstairs was slightly more down at heel, but extremely clean and comfortable. We had room number 2, at the front, looking out onto the main square, where we had to park the car as the hotel doesn't have its own car park. This is not a problem as the town car park is free, although might be trickier on market days. We were up early anyway but if you want a lie in, you should ask for a room at the back as the town square gets going fairly early. It was a large and comfortable room with a big bathroom. The shower could have been a bit more powerful but nothing to complain about. We were really impressed with the quality of the food - the menu was not extensive but everything we had was perfectly cooked. Would definitely stay again.

Room tip: See above.

NOTHING was too much trouble. From arriving to leaving we were made to feel warm and welcome by all the staff.
The downstairs is stunning, the decor, ambience, and the quality of the food was just amazing.
The rooms upstairs are a little tired but clean and comfortable, hence this reflected in the price.
Most importantly for us the hotel is Dog Friendly and our boy was welcomed as much (if not more) than us. Stokesley itself is bustling with an array of little shops and eateries and has some lovely walks along the Leven. All in all a fabulous stay!

My boyfriend and I used this hotel to use our buyagift voucher, And I hate to say that I really wasn’t that impressed. The hotel isn’t lit up very well so when you park in the car park you have to closely look late at night (in the dark) where to find it. Upon arrival there was no one at the check in desk, so luckily a waitress (who seemed to be there everyday working hard) checked us in. We wasn’t told anything to do with parking (luckily I read trip advisor) as you are not meant to park on the cobbles outside, and there is parking in the car park. The room was very outdated but the bathroom was lovely. Could’ve done with a bit more cleaning though as there was dust in quite a few places. The location in Stokesley was great and easy accessible to other places, we went by the sea to Redcar which was only a short drive away.
The bed was comfy, there was a loud banging noise ALL night for both nights downstairs which I really don’t understand why but it was infuriating and kept us up. Also the second night we was there ambulance/police turned up due to something happening in the bar. Late at night the door is locked (but we was not told) so it took us a while to realise we had the other key to get into the hotel on our keys
We ate at the restaurant the first night, the steak was lovely the chicken parm was... okay, but again nothing special. The pudding was lovely. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend this hotel but if you’re in the area I think it’s nice to stay in. The breakfast was really nice, and the waiting staff couldn’t of done more for you.
