The family gathered in this lovely pub, around a roomy table, for great evening meal and convivial service. Excellent, menu with local produce strongly represented. We sampled the mackerel starter (not that local ! but sharp, with lovely beetroot accompaniment) and then the beef, lamb and chicken - all served beautifully, with three excellent potatoes variants. The seared mini cabbage needed slightly longer cooking. The detail they take with food presentation is impressive. The desserts sumptuous - my bread and butter pudding meringue was excellent, a new twist but old flavours still there. Beautiful berry special also. All with an excellent wine from the extensive menu, and a few pints of Gold. 6 diners, £165 - happily pay this for quality, and that is what you get here - thanks to the team at The Eagle.
