Don't let the name, or the fact that it's also a gas station fool you. What a wonderful meal we had! Pork chops with maple sweet potatoes...OMG! Lamb shank, dunk confit salad, crab cakes, and even some Asian. A much better meal than we expected.

Owners/operators Julie and Richard are experts in keeping their clientele happy. The staff is most accommodating and knowledgeable. The menu changes are seasonal, and there are always one or two dinner specials. Meals are prepared with care and pride (you can taste it) and cooked as ordered. Ingredients are local when and where possible with a variety that aims to please. Dietary restrictions are met with a willingness to assist. The facilities are warm and inviting with good views of the town and lake. A small patio is open during the summer. Prices are very reasonable. Reservations are often a good idea. Looking for just a quick bite or pint, the Lalonde’s excel here too. On the north end of Lake Rosseau, this restaurant is well worth the drive from any of the surrounding areas. My personal favourite is the Berkshire Pork Chop from Winding Fences. Don’t forget about dessert - the crème brulée is superb!

Crossroads is an unexpected and fabulous find located in the ritzy little Town of Rousseau in a beautiful area of the Muskokas. Owned and operated by a French Canadian chef and his pastry chef wife who provide a 5 star dining experience usually reserved for the big city. The wine list is also well put together including a favorite St Emilion. I've dined there several times when visiting friends with a cottage in the area...try the veal chop and strip steak with a delicious dime glace with roasted potatoes baby vegetables-delicious! I've also tried the chef made stuffed pastas with a caesar salad...fabulous. Deserts are to die for...personally had the carrot cake and french tarts...the rhubarb certainly was a favorite of mine. Staff are great and friendly...it's kind of Hollywood North in cottage country so you may rub elbows with a few celebrities dining out there as well.

Stopped for lunch on the patio whilst riding our motorbikes with our pooch. We were pleasantly surprised that we could dine on the patio with our pup. Food was great and good-sized portions. Fantastic view over Lake Rosseau. Good shade available, too. This is an historic spot. Recommended.
