Been there with 27 friends, they are used to big companies and managed both the space and food properly, pizza is lovely, meat too and the wine list is rich and vary. Perfect for a dinner with friends after a trek on the surrounding mountains, even if u r from Varallo or lower down the valley is worth the journey up there.

We were staying in Varallo and were recommend to eat here. It was really worth the drive! Be sure to book in advance as the place was packed. The place looks like you’ve stepped onto the set of Heidi, with the wooden style shack restaurant feel, which only adds to the charm and the food is fantastic. The staff were also so friendly and helpful. I can see why this place is so popular.

The menu offers the cuisine of the region with a twist. The presentation of the dishes suggests the attempt of the chef and his (her?) team to go beyond the traditional, homemade style a customer may expect in this area. Well done!
The restaurant though has an unmistakable trattoria-style that does not match with the menu, moreover, way too many distasteful accessories. Get rid of them all, leave the checked tablecloths and the objects strictly related to the culture of the region only, and you will have a friendly, yet graceful atmosphere. See ya!

This is pretty little restaurant in the Sermenza valley. Excellent, friendly service and a small but interesting menu - although we didn't ask for it, an English translation was provided. Really good cooking and presentation. We liked our first lunch so much we went back again. A really enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

Our family ate at Il Giacomaccio twice during our week at Rassa. The first was lunch and while we were intially disappointed that there was no pizza or focaccia available until the evening, we were very happy with the homemade pasta. The quantity was a bit small for the price however. We returned for dinner a few nights later and a most memorable and budget friendly meal - focaccia, pizza, dessert and (very nice) house wine, all for 70 Euro for a family of five. Great value for money in the evening and nice atmosphere.
