We've heard a lot about the Blue Duck. We really enjoyed stopping and staying the night on our road trip through the high country. The rooms are clean and comfortable. No power points and no phone signal. Just relax. Continental breakfast is available. They bring it to your room the night before.
We had dinner and enjoyed our meals in from of the open fire. They close on the queens birthday weekend for the winter.
A great place to stop on a long drive or a great base to visit the high country.

Six motel rooms, two recently upgraded, we had one of these, clean and well equipped but as the site runs off a generator the microwaves and hairdryers were missing, No TV or mobile signal a really relaxing place to read and walk. The Cobungra river runs through the Inn's grounds. The Inn served good pub grub and the staff were friendly and helpful, car parking outside accommodation or Inn. Generator switches off at 10 pm then only LED lighting, but you can see the stars.
We would definitely stay here again and would go out of our way to do so.

The Blue Duck is an old pub set in a gorgeous spot along the Cobungra River in a fairly isolated mountainous area of North East Gippsland Victoria. There are cabins people can stay in uphill from the pub and out the back are sprawling and well kept lawns leading down to the little Cobungra River. You can eat a delicious country lunch and then lounge around on the banks and in the river for hours.
I had a smoked trout all to myself and enjoyed every minute of dismembering it and eating it. Most other fare was typical pub food but served well. Grape vines line the outdoor deck creating wonderful shade on a hot day.

We stopped at the Blue Duck Inn whilst touring Vic high country, and what a great find it was. On the banks of a cute little river, the setting was beautiful and even a kookaburra sitting on the railing next to us. The food was fresh and tasty and the only draw back to the whole experience was the European Wasps which of course is out of the pubs control. Well worth discovering this little beauty.
