“Superb stay and value for money”
Reviewed 30 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

My teenage daughter and I wanted to stay for a weekend and be central to the valleys, Cardiff and the motorway to maximise our time. This was the perfect destination. It started with awesome clear directions, and Rita having left the key in the door, lights and heating on, milk in the fridge and not a small 2 biscuit pack but a whole big packet of chocolate digestives. How thoughtful!!
It was so peaceful with the sounds of the ducks and birds being the only noise to disturb the saturday lie in. Although a tiny IKEA sized cabin, there was room aplenty with a separate bathroom with yummy wall heater and heated towel rail, a cute kitchen with all the cooking facilities available, a comfy sofa in the lounge with tv and heater and a separate bedroom with great mattress and snuggly blankets, and more heaters. There is a coin meter for the electricity and we were there for 2 full days and had everything on and put in £3, with the meter showing lots available. It was really lovely and clean with all the materials available for us to keep the property clean and tidy.
The location is perfect for heading to Brecon, the valleys, castle Coch down the road and 20 min into Cardiff. The local village has both supermarkets and little cafes and shops. My teen has asked when we are going back as it beats struggling with horrendously expensive Cardiff city accommodation, more expensive parking and being disturbed by noisy patrons. Rita was so helpful and accommodating, with fab communication and made us feel very welcome..thanks so much

“Peaceful, comfortable, convenient and very clean, with secure parking”
Reviewed 16 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

My stay at the cabin was very enjoyable. It was very clean and comfortable, with the added bonus of having secure parking for my car. Everything one would need was in the cabin and Rita, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful. The cabin is very well situated for easy access to Cardiff, Swansea, the Valleys and the coast.

“NOT FOR US”
Reviewed 20 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Firstly let me say that this accommodation was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and the owner pleasant and helpful. However we found the living space very cramped and uncomfortable. The kitchen/dining area was very, very small and it was difficult to prepare anything other than a simple snack or meal Even this was onerous. The stove was very small and if the oven was used there was only one burner working. There was no space for preparation and the fridge needed a new seal. There was the bare minimum of pots, pans and serving dishes. The bathroom, whilst clean was no place to linger with the smallest sink possible and not a lot of pressure from the shower.More towels needed to be provided for the length of our stay.
This place might be OK for a night or two but we stayed a week and found it a trial. It is a 2 mile drive down a narrow country lane (no lights when dark) after leaving the main road. Then onto a rough farm track for a couple of hundred yards, through two farm gates which have to be opened and closed before reaching the property. Luckily we had no rain when there but would not have wanted these obstacles in wet, muddy weather.

No wifi or internet

I am pleased to note your comments in that the accommodation was spotlessly clean, bed comfortable and owner pleasant and helpful.

As far as the open plan living/dining/kitchen space is concerned, it will be seen from the photos shown on the website that for 2 people the living accommodation provides a 3 seater settee. The facilities of a TV/DVD, coffee table and side board are also situated in this area. The dining area provides a table and 2 chairs. As far as the bare minimum of pots, pans and serving dishes is concerned in the kitchen area, it will also be seen that for two people the accommodation provides 3 different size saucepans, 6 dinner plates, a frying pan, various kitchen utensils, 4 mugs, an abundance of cutlery with various knives including carving/bread knives. The kitchen accommodation also provides the facilities of a micro wave in addition to that of the cooker/oven/grill, kettle, toaster. Casserole dishes, egg poacher, drinking glasses are also provided, kept in the cupboard areas.

As far as the lack of towels is concerned, additional towels if requested could have been provided.

The accommodation is advertised as situated in a rural location, on a farm and not in the middle of a town or city.

“A lovely winter stay”

Enjoyed thoroughly, stayed with my partner for an early Christmas. It was perfect. Very quiet, friendly and great facilities for cooking and generally living. Price was brilliant and the electric was done by a meter of £ coins, but was no hassle. Spent about £6 worth on the whole weekend.

Will defiantly be returning.
