This is a fairly small museum in Sonderborg. It offers two movies which explores the history of the museum. You make walk the battle grounds and enjoy docents in period clothing demonstrating tasks of that period. It has a cute gift shop with a variety of interesting items. It is in a beautiful location and across the street you can photograph a windmill. Well worth a stop.

It's a historical centre from the battles between the Danish and the Prussians. The intro film is Danish but there are headphones with the English text. The rest of the museum is more interesting in the high season and with children.

It's an interesting insight into a little known episode in European history, the Prussian victory in 1864 - where the 20th century started :).

There's a good opening film which sets the context and lots of outdoor activities, which kids will enjoy.

My only slight caveat would be that a lot of the exhibits are only labelled in Danish or German; you do get supplied with a headset which explains it in English etc but that means you have to move at their pace and in the right order - which isn't always the best option if there are others doing the same thing.

Food options are pretty much restricted to snacks, so it assumes you bring your own, which is fine - just worth knowing.

A really good museum in the mittle of Dybbøl Banke. We spent over 3 hours experiencing both the museum, the mille and the areas around. The outer areas are good organized and gives you an expression of how it really was in the mid-1860's. Family friendly, good stalls and activities. We got to see a canon being fired including a really interesting lecture above the Germans and Danish weapons/canons/etc and the war strategy used on both side.
