It is our first visit to the island of Sylt,Germany.
Located in the North Sea , connected by a railway for foot passengers or cars and a 40 min ferry service from Denmark.
Our hotel the Raffelhuschen is family owned and run on the site of their original bakery.
Guests have a warm welcome to a very efficiently run and beautifully clean establishment in a perfect location, with the added bonus of their own very secure underground car park.
Just 1 minute from the Main Street which leads down to the sea, in this case not being on seafront is an advantage as there seem to be strong winds from the North Sea constantly.
The hotel serves an excellent breakfast with everything you could possibly want including wonderful breads and pastries from their chain of superb bakeries on the island!
I am told the cakes served at tea in the afternoon are delicious, saw them being delivered every morning but were never back at tea time to sample them.
If we ever return to this island we will definitely stay at the Raffelhuschen a great find which i can highly recommend to any visitor.More
