We visited as a group of 6 at the end of March for two days fishing and had a great time. A great mix of blue water and river fishing allowed for diverse fishing for our group. The accommodation was comfortable and the food tasty. A great fishing trip that was enjoyed by our entire family.

Stayed for a few days, the whole place was so very well kept, clean and tidy. Meals by the chef were varied with a nice Jewfish starters with a beer before dinner. Boats were well cared for and maintained. Views from the lodge looked back to Snake bay and to the Arafura sea, fantastic with the storms rolling in. Thanks to our hosts for a great stay, plan to return, with a rod.

Room Tip: Choose the Private Room, bit extra, but nice quiet area.

Hi Chudley, thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. Sitting on the deck with a beer and some well cooked fresh fish is as good as it sounds. I'll pass on your kind words to the lodge and look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Recently 2 mates and I spent 4 nights at Melville Island Lodge run by TIWI Adventures. We fished over 3 full days and accounted for 22 different species including a 91cm Barra and a 140cm Longtail Tuna. What a paradise it turned out to be with a full cooked breakfast at 0600 every day then onto the 6.5 Metre boats for a full days fishing with a lunch stop under shade. Then back to the lodge at 17.00 for Sundowners and Seafood appertisers before sitting down to a Chef prepared dinner with multiple choices of mains and dessert to follow (if you can fit it in ??)
. The accommodation in twin share rooms was extremely comfortable and air-conditioned and quiet. The staff were ALL very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a good time. The fishing guides on each boat were extremely knowledgeable and put us onto a great variety of good fish everyday
It is a place I would thoroughly recommend to Experienced and Novice Fishers alike. They supply ALL the fishing gear you need and it is all top quality tackle. As I said in my Title it is FISHING IN PARADISE. I'll be back ASAP!!!. .

I visited the lodge and Johnson river camp with three friends over 8 days. The three we had at melville lodge were great, can not complain about anything. The guides were great, Grassy and Paul. We fished three locations, two to a boat, ca aught fish every day. The accomodation for a fishing camp is great, air con, wi fi etc. The food is great and plenty of it if you want. We have been there before, and most probably will return.

Hi Paddles, thanks for taking time out of your day and posting a review.
The joint trip taking in both Melville Island Lodge and Johnson River Camp is nice and easy to do and you get to visit 2 of the best fishing lodges in Australia. Hope to see you up here again.

This location offers some memorable fishing both blue water and creek /estuary.The accommodation is very good, the food superb and scenery spectacular, especially Goose Creek.
As a single organising fishing trips isn't that easy, Most places cater for groups and aren't willing to pair up singles. But Nigel could not have been more accommodating.I had 7 days of memorable fishing with another single that I had never met.We caught fish every day mainly due to the patience, skill and consideration of our guide Steve.Neither of us had ever used a baitcaster and didn't realise the importance of this type of fishing to get the lures right next to the snags where the fish, particularly the Barramundi live.We had a lesson on the lawn and away we went.
The boats are powerful, robust and well suited to the location and everyone very friendly. If you want to catch a particular species just ask and they will do their best.
Special thanks to Mick the cook and Steve our guide for a wonderful 7 days.

Room Tip: This not a hotel as such, but a fishing lodge. You have a choice of shared facilities or 2 rooms with ensuites. All rooms are airconditioned

Hi Ross, thanks for your very kind words and taking the time to write this review.
We're very open to matching singles on our fishing packages and happy we could do it for you on this occasion. Your guide Steve (Grassy) Raines has been here a very long time and knows everything there is to know about casting and the fishing on Tiwi Islands. Like all our guides, he's very happy and patient to teach our visitors the fine art of catching barra,
Thanks again Ross and hope to see you again in the future.
