Visited on a Friday lunchtime following recommendations by locals. At first sight a backstreet bar situated outside of the town centre and in the middle of a housing estate might not provide the ideal surroundings but don't let that, or basic decor and the paper tablecloths put you off. We arrived just before 2.00pm and got a table straightaway. Turned out to be good timing as within 30 minutes the place was bouncing, with all tables taken and a queue outside the door, which speaks volumes for its popularity. Ordered tomato salad with garlic, salt and olive oil and a selection of fried fish which proved to be a great choice. The fish was well cooked and the calamares was right up there with the best we've ever had. The atmosphere was brilliant and despite being rushed off their feet, Pepe and his colleagues were on top of their game. Even with bread and drinks the bill was just over €20, which was superb value for money. If you're looking to eat where the locals go then this is for you. Will definitely be paying a return visit when next in the area.

No bad dish, we had clams, baby hake, baby squid and sea bass - wow! Pepe could not have done more, very welcoming. Very Spanish.

Bar Arturo is the place to eat if you love fish. It isn't located in the city center and it isn't a touristic place, you usually find there just locals. Quality/price is very good. You have to try the deep fried fish, they have several kinds of fishes, all delicious. The gazpacho is very good too, and the tomato salad with garlic dressed with olive oil and sherry vinegar is a must. Usually there is people waiting for a table so you have to be a bit patient, but you can wait drinking a beer or a wine in the bar.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotelier and it was well worth the walk. Although we would advise taking a cab as the journey is not the most picturesque that Jerez has to offer!
It is a small local establishment offering a wide range of fresh fish and shellfish. We started by sharing a refreshing tomato and garlic salad with some medium sized grilled prawns. They were perfectly cooked and very tasty. We followed with half a sea bream each. Again, perfectly cooked. We experimented with various local wines and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
If I went again I would ask them to just bring me shellfish as we looked on enviously as the locals tucked into crab claws and tiny prawns that we hadn't been able to translate from the menu. A little treasure.

We ate at Arturo's for the second time tonight. Again the food, the friendly atmosphere and the service provided by Pepe was excellent. It's not easy to find but its close to our loft space - we'll be going again before the week is out!
