I received a warm, friendly and efficient greeting from Loli the receptionist and booking in was unproblematic. The thermae and warm baths were a real tonic after walking the via de la Plata from Seville. The greatest experience however was a relaxing massage from Maria. Her husband Fernando spared no effort in taking me to the best shop for a pair of swimming trunks for the thermae and the next morning walked with me the necessary distance so that I took the right route north out of the city

Room tip: Try and get a room not on the street side

Hostel Aquaforum in Merida. A lucky late booking. Right in the centre of the old town and a tricky navigation through some of the narrow streets, even with Sat Nav. Well worth the effort although classified as a Hostel it was only completed in November last year and with not so many rooms it will be in high demand. It has hot spring splash pool in the enclosed courtyard and the possibility of a massage, breakfast is included and the 0wners / staff are pleasant and helpful what really makes it a no brainer it is inexpensive (cheap has undertones of nasty) and worthy of more stars than the two it boasts.

My SO booked this place for a romantic getaway and it was simply perfect, especially the "thermae" (hot baths). We could have the whole place for us for an hour, and the staff even let us choose some music to play while we were in there. The room was very modern, clean and well equipped. The hotel has a patio with a swimming pool and some sofas to chill. If you are also interested in sightseeing, it is perfectly located (close to the Templo de Diana), and there's a great restaurant called De tripas corazón nearby.

We spent one night in Merida during our trip to Sevilla.
The Hostal location is simply amazing. Right in the centre of the town, with all the main attraction at a few footsteps.
The room was fantastic, clean, air conditioning, small terrace, very big bathroom and comfortable double bed.
The Hostal personnel very welcoming and kind. Breakfast fine and adequate to the price paid. We had a wonderful experience.
The only negative point is that the room was a bit noisy, but this is mainly due to people screaming in the street and this didn't ruin our sleep.
Highly reccommended, good value for your money.
