Strengths: Location is great, at walking distance from the main city attractions but very quiet, so you can sleep well at night.
Cheap, clean and friendly staff. Air conditioning works all right.

Weakenesses: No lift and a steep staircase. No hair dryer. Noisy bed. TV is old, but we did not go there to watch TV, so....

Room tip: Good price and very quiet area. No lift available, so take that into account if that is an issue for you.

The municipal albergue can only be used for one night so I elected to opt for private budget accommodation. Cheap cheery and clean. I was in a different room the second night in Room 201 and the air-conditioning was not working. This was really the only hiccup.

This is good accommodation for the price. Very pleasant staff, although limited English, but that is expected in this part of the world.
Clean room and comfortable beds. We had twin beds and a bathroom. The room was small but not squeezy.
Location is good - not too close to the main square so was quiet; but close enough for attractions. Close also to Jose Fernandez Lopez car parking.

We had some comunication issues and when we'd got to the place, it was already close. The problem was the emergency numbers left on the hostal door, nobody reply to the 100's phone calls we made. So, we were left outside! and they didn't return the booking fee even with no more vacancies as the paper on the door said.

Nicely located hostal. Very clean. One could say typical (with a small, square courtyard and those ornamental ceramic tiles). Also very quiet (although I had the feeling all Merida is so quiet). Steep ebtrance stairs could present a little problem for olders.

Room tip: Some rooms have "inner" windows. Some could find this not so inviting.
