The cathedral is a beautiful, petite representation of Romanic art in Spain. It is worth joining the guided tour, if possible, to learn all about the outside decoration techniques such as the Taqueado Jaques, which would later be copied in Castillian Romanic cathedrals. But the real treasure is the museum inside. As a big fan of Romanic painting, I was astounded by the magnificent paintings inside, especially the one of the Three Wise Men taken from the village of Navasa. A delight.

Unfortunately the citadel was closed when we visited so all we could do was walk around the exterior of the moat and walls. That itself was enough to give you a sense of the size and importance of this fortification. A very impressive structure. See the herd of deer living in the bottom of the moat was an added bonus.

Visit the church together with the museum. Both are a treasure of medieval art & architecture. Take enough time (2-3 hours) to visit.

A beautiful old cathedral with free entry.
It is being 'cleaned' inside and amazing to see the difference it makes.
If you like old buildings and architecture then it's well worth a visit.
