My hubby and I stayed at this hotel in Dec 2013/Jan 2014 to celebrate the New Year. We found the staff to be very friendly and they could not do enough for you to ensure you enjoyed your stay. We were always asked if we would like more food at meal times and we found the food to be of excellent quality and variety. The hotel normally only provides continental breakfast but on New Years day they provided a full English option which was made available at a time to accommodate the late night we had had to bring in the new year. The staff also put on a fireworks display to welcome in the new year, and even though it started to rain they stayed outside with their guests.
The hotel is decorated throughout for the festive season with Rosie, the 'landlady', painting every window in the hotel with cute animal scenes (this must have taken ages to complete, but looked very festive).
We had a very early start on our last day at the hotel but Rosie and her team were there to ensure we had a good breakfast. Rosie then went on to stand outside to wave us on our way when the time came for us to leave.
Valkenberg is a lovely place and this hotel is a good base to enjoy it from as it is just ten minutes walk down into the town centre.More
