AMAZING VIEWS. Huge windows. Comfortable beds. We spent the last night of 3 here. Definitely the nicest. We got a Private room with bathroom, and hot water. Excellent meals, and a very very nice hostess. And COLD BEER. No crowds , calm and quiet and cheaper than the others. Look no further, this is where you should stay.

Room tip: Splurge and go for the private with bathroom. The views and hot water are worth it.

Warm welcome by Domitita, the wife of Roy. They run a small business, 8 minute walk from the first guesthouse you come across when you come from direction Sagalle, but if you want a calm and not too touristy place I would recommend Roy's place. They offer very tasty and cheap dinner and breakfast. Hot water and a beautiful terrace where you can rest to prepare for your next hike. We came without a reservation in this period which was fine. They offer basic rooms with shared bathrooms, but also with private ones.

We enjoyed the stay at this guest house a lot. The host is very welcoming and the food she cooks very good. The rooms are simple with no electricity, but there are candles and the view on the stars is unbeatable.
Walking from Cabanaconde into the valley the guest house is reached after crossing the bridge and staying on the main track, not taking the steep short cut.

We stayed At Posada Roy after hiking down to San Juan de Chucco. The rooms are amazing and of an incredible cleanliness and quality. All open windows which means you have a beautiful view on the canyon when you wake up.We hiked all the canyon and this was definitely the most unique sight. Food quality and people were incredible. All other places and home stays we passed by felt like Disney Land, certainly at Oasis. Stay at Posada Roy if you want to feel what a lodge has to be. I believe one would pay 400 euros for this In Africa, while this was only 10 euros per person with a 3 course meal included. Do not doubt if you want to experience something unique.

On our way down into the Colca Canyon a young couple said, with such enthusiasm, you MUST stay at Paroy. Well, what a perfect suggestion. Hospitality second to none, excellent food preparation, and such caring. The perfect hosts. The owner even arranged for a mule to transport my wife up to Tapay to catch a bus out of the Canyon as her her knee was injured from the arduous trek. Thank you
