I was very happy to visit this place. Nice walk up to hill which is also reachable for older people makes me fresh and feeling fine to do something for my body. What for a surprise to meet a fatty pig at then first gate welcoming everyone... Just Go, buy ticket for less than 4€ take information in English at the cash desk and enjoy very special of Czech history and middle age "flavor". Highly recommended!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed Hrad Tocnik. I took an incredible hike through the surrounding wooded areas of Hrad Tocnik to the most scenic outlook in the area, Hrad Tocnik. This castle was very well preserved, and well kempt. The castle grounds were expansive with not only many medieval rooms, but an interesting falconer presentation with domestic and exotic birds that you may take part of. The views from the castle are quite scenic as the castle is set on a very large hill. If you get hungry there is a food and refreshments stand were you can grab some food and have an awesome lunch in the middle of a castle. A great place to go with the family. I definitely recommend this castle if you find yourself in Central Bohemia.

I came here with my family one sunny day in spring. Eventhough you hae to park bellow the castle and climb up the hill it is managable even with small children. Takes about 30 minutes of slow walk. The castle itself is marvelous medieval castle with lots to offer in history. Children will appreciate the two bears held at the bear coop just bellow the castle fortification.
