After traveling from America with two children under the age of 4 my husband and I were in much need for a relaxing overnight ... just the two of us. This place was the perfect spot. It's QUIET. It's BEAUTIFUL The rooms big and they even had AC! The staff was delightful. We had dinner on the patio and it was a top notch meal and that says a lot since my husband is a "foodie" and has very high standards! We have stayed in many castles in Belgium and Holland and this is one of our all time favorites.

We were just looking for a nice country-side (ish) hotel that we can go to and this place came up! It was like a dream. A beautiful castle hidden somewhere in the middle of the woods. The pool, courtyard, as well as the breakfast were superb. Too bad their restaurant was closed the night we stayed there, we would have wanted to have dinner there too. All in all it was a great experience!

PS I was traveling with my 8 month old baby, they were very nice and welcoming even if the place looked fancy. :)

We stayed in the Manoir from Friday to Sunday for a family weekend with 16.

In a one sentence review: the place is fantastic with a magnificent building, lovely interiors and gardens, but the service depends strongly on the personnel... and that's not you expect from a 5*...

In more detail the reservation and administration is not 5* and should be improved: too many mistakes happened before our stay.

The day we arrived we were greeted very friendly (with welcome letter, multi lingual... A delight. One of our rooms was not ready at 16H which again is no issue but not what you expect.

The bar has a lovely interior and offers a wide variety of drinks. Again the service element pops up: you really have to ask the waiter to come and serve you. And during apéro, no one was catering or took the effort of taking the empty glasses away (ours but also from previous guests).

The sauna is located next to the manoir in an annex. New, modern, clean and well kept complex: it's stylish with grey and wood accents. Gas fireplace not lit.. The swimming pools' temperature is cold for swimming and excellent for cooling down after the sauna. Massages are good and well taken care off with enough time for relaxing. The fitness has three modern cardio's (crosstrainer, bike and running) with one multipurpose fitness aparatus. Additional water and towel provided..

Rooms: The Suite Impériale and Royale are both fantastic rooms, nicely decorated mixing modernity with the ancient Manoir in a delightful way. The "Suite Manoriales" are very large rooms but do not have the same finishing. The Chambres Relais are significantly smaller but have the same finishing as the most expensive suites. Excellent beds, A tip if you are a light sleeper or do not like waking up with the sounds of reception or breakfast: ask for the suite manoriale on the second floor if you want to stay in the main building, or book a room in the annex (this way you do not have to walk to the sauna and fitness)

The breakfast is average. Positive: Nice assortment of bread, cheese and meat (even an avocado :-). Negative: We ran out of paté, croissants, no toaster available, few choices of marmelade. Ridiculous surplus of 5€ for having an egg when you pay 19€ per breakfast. Or for every warm dish a surplus is charged.

The surroundings are magnificent: enjoy the kept gardens but also the not kept part that runs next to a river...Spa is very nearby howeverbe aware your GPS can send you through non existing roads.

I describe the restaurant and service in a separate review.

To end: this magnificent manoir has much potential if the service is put up to standard.

Room Tip: Read review: the suite manoriale on the second floor (main building), or book a room in the annex.

We selected this hotel for a Post Valentine getaway. Looking for a romantic environment, luxury, authenticity and welness, we came across this hotel.

Positive points:

Environment is fantastic and centrally located in one of the most beautiful corners of the ardennes.

The hotel itself is beautiful and romantic, and renovated with lots of eye to detail. From the imposing main building, with functional fireplace, to the rooms themselves. We stayed at the "suite manoriale", which is spacious and lovely decorated.

The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is large but very "masculin", meaning women will certainly mis certain items such as sufficient heating, a large mirror and adequate lighting.

The Wellness area is very comfy and airy, and the treatments offered are good quality, but very expensive. The wellness has a swimming pool ( albeit too cold) , relax chairs, a sauna, a hammam, showers. A jacuzzi is missing. The open fire is there, but never used.

Cosy bar.

Well looked after breakfast.

Negative points

Customer service is bad. Examples: When booked we specifically asked if the restaurant was open or not. The restaurant is closed Monday-Tuesday. So we made different arrangements for dinner ( Valentine remember?) through the hotel. Only to find out that the Monday of our arrival the restaurant was open, only nobody had bothered to mention. After a 15 hour airplane trip this would have been very convenient. When mentioned we got a cold " oops, we must have forgotten" and further nothing. Some form of empathy would have been appreciated.
Turn down service is available, but dont leave the chocolates in the room the next day as they will disappear.

Amenities are not replenished, which for me is a big No No in a room costing 400 Euro/ night. Same goes for the bed linnen.

At the end a mistake was made with the bill, and extra money was deducted from my creditcard without prior notification, although it clearly was an error from the hotel administration.

So in short: beautifull setting, very nice envronment, huge potential, a supposedly very good restaurant, nice wellness.

But overall customer service and eye for detail lacking and not on par with the prices asked or the hotel class they pretend to be in!

A shame, as this could be one of the best hotels in Belgium.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner last year. I looked at this hotel on their website and it looks beautiful. We drove there (I believe there is no other way). A long drive way with natural trees and greenery. The property is spectacular. Massive greenery surrounding the hotel. We had a 6 course dinner with champagne and wine. The wine prices are a little over priced but we enjoyed the evening. The waiters are not really well trained though. One female waitress was putting some whipped cream over our dish and could not get it our of the bottle. She turned with her back facing us and shoke the bottle. To be honest, it was not a very nice thing to do in front of us and it was not elegant at all. We did enjoy ourselves despite that. When we made the reservation, we were also not informed that there was a wedding going on. They hold weddings in the main area/lobby. It was a bit disturbing and noisy. We will be going back again this week, hopefully it is better than the previous time!
