This is a wonderful relaxing hotel and spa. We enjoyed seven nights there recently and would confirm that all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. We were on half board and did not go to the other restaurants as we felt that the buffet was more than adequate. Golfers we met said how good the courses were, they certainly looked spectacular. There are plenty of activities to join - yoga, walking and bicycle trips, etc.or you can relax by the pools. The inifinity pool right at the top of the hotel complex is really great - there were usually Balinese beds free too. The spa is lovely with a range of treatments and massages on offer.

Our only problem was with the room we were allocated - on the fifth floor, for smokers. We did not request this and will take this up with our travel company, apparently no fault of the hotel. Interestingly enough the fifth floor rooms have the worst view; clearly smokers must accept what they are given.

Friends of ours had stayed at this hotel a couple of times and highly recommended it.
We then read the reviews, mostly excellent, so our expectations were high. We
were not disappointed. From checking in to checking out there's was not a single
member of staff that was not courteous and helpful. The waiting staff in the restaurant
were delightful, always welcoming one with a smile. The buffet restaurant served
a huge variety of food, catering for all tastes...(so tempting was it, we ate far too much!)
Our room on the 8th floor was attractive, bed .extremely comfortable, with a great view
of the dunes from our balcony. We shall certainly return.

Room Tip: Top floorsi.

Attentive staff, excellent food and challenging golf. A truly enjoyable break.
The Sheraton Salobre is a treat. An unusual design which is part of its charm allows all to have spectacular views from the balcony. Sunset from the roof is best viewed whilst swimming in the infinity pool.

Just returned from 1 week at this resort. It was an excellent deal through Telegraph travel and we opted for the half board which was fortunate as the resort is way up the mountains and nothing else around but the golf course. Built into the mountain side you need to be pretty fit just to get to your room as the lift system is complicated at first. We were not golfers so nothing to do except laze around the beautiful pool areas . Beautiful infinity pool heated to warm bath temp and plenty of beds and Bali style 4 posters.Hotel food was reasonable, plenty of choice and chef cooking fresh meat every day but buffet style and as always that is difficult to keep hot. Booked a special meal in their a la carte restaurant and my duck was tough and cold although my husbands was excellent. Menu didn't change at all and it was not really inspiring . Lounging areas during the evenings were a bit dificult as all the seating arrangement is Egyptian style low and long seats and uncomfortable. The hotel provides excellent shuttle service to Maspaloma beach and shops on the hour during the day and we booked a very reasonable trip to the lovely resort of Mogan . Little niggles like nowhere to place your soap and shampoo in the wet room shower and poor entertainment in the evenings makes it the "almost 5*"

Room Tip: overlooking golf course

We spent a week in January here. The staff have clearly been trained to be very friendly and attentive and to give a high level of service without losing their Spanish character. The rooms are of a high standard with the hotel being designed so that most appear to look out over the golf course. I played both golf courses which are maintained to a high standard. Take a big bag of balls for the New Course though!
For 25 euros there was a very enjoyable guided bike tour to Maspalomas and back, a moderately demanding round trip of 25k. The free shuttle service to the resort's beach apartment in Maspalomas works well. The drop off is near the bus station where there are good routes all over the island including a fast service to Las Palmas which takes about 40 mins. Alternatively there appears to be a taxi outside the hotel most of the time and the fare to Maspalomas is 13 euros.
A really great facility is the sunset pool above floor 11 which faces south and gets the sun much later than the other northerly facing pools. More importantly in January it is heated to a comfortable temperature. The only draw back is the constant X Factor music coming from the pool bar all day long which is enough to induce suicide. There are beds a little way away where it is almost possible to ignore Taylor Swift, One Direction and co.
We were on half board which meant buffet breakfast and evening meal. The breakfast is a magnificent spread with a chef also at hand to cook fresh eggs. The quality of ingredients for the evening meal is also high and there is a large choice but after a few days I found myself heading for the condiments to overcome a feeling of blandness in the "international" cuisine. For a reasonable supplement it was possible to eat in the a la carte and tapas restaurants but we didn't go there.
1 litre of water is left in the rooms per day so they seem to have paid heed to earlier comments. Generally drinks are much more expensive than in other locations on the island but perhaps not over the top for a relatively isolated 4 star resort.
