What has happened to this place since Hungry Horse took over? Went last week, my daughter ordered pizza only to be told they didn't ave any flat bread left so no pizza. Three days ago my sister in law ordered chicken, "sorry no chicken left". Tonight three of ordered gammon, guess what? "sorry no gammon left" (five o clock in the evening). Considering these three items make up most of their menu it is an absolute disgrace. We used to visit that restaurant at least once a week but no longer, enough is enough

Checked in ok and the room was cleaned to a basic standard , wasn't too bothered as only payed £50 for the nite , went down for breakfast which was ok , when I went to check out was charged for the breakfast which should have been included. When the manger came . A old unhelpful guy just said it's not on the booking and said take it up with booking.com , then walked away .
You really no how to look after your customers !!!!

Stayed here for one night. Rooms not bad which is a shame. Went in the restaurant area to order some food. I ordered " char grilled chicken burger " ok it's not top nosh but when it arrives in four minutes flat, you begin to worry. My worries weren't unfounded. It was cold, mushy chicken with a salad that was older than Nohas Ark. The fries were stale and obviously reheated. I asked a young girl to take it back and issue a refund. She came back and apologised on behalf of the management who couldn't be bothered coming out and asked if I wanted a free pudding. No thanks I don't eat them but I can honestly say that it was the worst meal I've had in twenty years of working away. AVOID

Room tip: Please do not eat here, go over the road to Sainsburys as everyone else does.

AVOID..Okay after a fantastic weekend away in London for my Wife's 40th Birthday, I rang the hotel to book a table for 11 friends to informally finish her celebrations...."we don't do table reservations any more" the young lady informed me. I emailed their customer relations contact to ask if it would be possible?..they responded on the 1st of December to say no,bearing in mind I emailed on the morning of the 29th November her actual Birthday and here are the points of that atrocious night..

1. Could not have mixed grill as the kitchen had run out of rump steak!
2. We asked if we could double up on the chicken instead...sorry run out of chicken
3. One of our party was talking to a couple staying overnight as they too had not been able to order the food of their choice.
4. The bar was sticky along with the tables a good clean wouldn't have gone a miss.
5. One of my guests had asked for medium to well done sirloin and without peas..you guessed it came with peas and a good vet could have got it up and running around a field again.
6. I ordered a 20z rump (yes they had them) and to be fair it was tasty with hardly any fat and cooked as I had asked..delicious only to be ruined by the over cooked chips.
7. We needn't have worried about booking a table as there were only a handful of people in the whole place.

In essence the worst experience of a Hotel restaurant I and my party have ever had I'm sure we will laugh one day about it but if we wanted a laugh we would have gone to see a comedian instead we ended up wasting in excess of £135 to be served by some!!! Never again.
