We have self-catered for years and it was great to rent a property which was actually geared to a high standard of self-catering! Fabulous fridge/freezer and all you need in the kitchen. Wonderful comfortable bed, glorious open fire. The cottage warms up extremely quickly so very cosy to come home to after a day out. The views are superb and the village has all the basic amenities. Wonderful walks from the doorstep.
I started staying at these cottages back in 1995 when they were owned by another team. We use them as a base when hiring Farsàin for diving and they are fantastic. Good value, well equipped and so close to the marina. This latest visit was the first in a while as I no longer dive but met up with my old dive crew. The refurbishment is great and virtually nothing had changed. Many happy memories and no complaints.
Lovely views from lounge & bedroom, clean and modern appliances, everything provided . Mergansers and seals in bay every morning, local pub good if you don't want to cook!
Owner was very helpful when we had to change our booking, altogether a great experience.
Holidayed here as a wee toot and recently returned to make some new memories with my little ones. Booking process seamless and hassle free, great communication and owners always on hand for any queries.
Fantastic, clean, safe and well served location, beautiful wee marina, gorgeous bay in front of the house where my boys spent the majority of their holiday. You want for nothing in the house and everything maintained to v high standard. Great pub 2 mins walk from house, fantastic good and friendly locals. Some great cycle routes - we headed to Crinan Canal at Ardrishaig and my 5 & 6 y.o. managed the round trip no prob. Planned a trip to Mull on the ferry but fully booked, so look into this in advance!
Surrounded by so many great things to do but the weather was so good we simply enjoyed what we had! Highlight for my boys was a helicopter landing on the bay in front of the house, 3 guys promptly disembarked and headed to their yacht at the marina!
Do it, you won't be disappointed....
If you are looking for a great base to relax this is it, the village is that's what it is classed as north of the border is very nice & quiet, the pub in the village serves some very good food & has a good atmosphere.
The cottage has everything you need for a holiday , clean, tidy, well equipped even a good selection of films & music just in case the Scottish weather closes in & good wifi to keep the kids happy. You do have to plan a bit to pick up supplies while out as the pub shop has limited supplies.
We found it a great base for a very relaxing holiday.
We booked for a family escape while sailing on the west coast. The accommodation was well maintained, well equipped and clean but it was the little things which made the difference. The booking process was simple and effective but when we started to communicate directly with the owners nearer the arrival date it was clear that they cared for their guests.
A few days before arrival they contacted us to find out when we would be arriving and when we explained it would be earlier than the official checkin they let us know they would try and clean the cottage early so we could gain access and indeed true to their word we got early entry and escaped from the wind and rain outside. The rooms all had fresh flowers and even a welcome note written to us on the fridge door made us feel as though we were in a friends cottage and not a rented house. A pile of cds and dvds insured that there was something for everyone and the fire was all set awaiting a match to get us up and runnning- no searching for firelighters or kindling required.
The accommodation is simple but not sparse and there was ample parking to the rear. We were staying to meet friends- and take advantage of the local yacht marina and there was plenty of sheltered space for wet jackets and wellies to hang, endless hot water on hand. Each morning we were awoken with a stunning view down the loch and we were lucky enough to have a couple of stunning sunsets to complete a memorable holiday. Only tip would be that whilst there is a local shop (for emergencies) you would be advised to bring supplies rather than hope to buy on arrival!
I visited Craobh Marina Cottages in May this year, and right from the off I knew I had made the right decision with welcome note on the door. It's the little things that make the difference. The cottage was spotless, and we'll equipped. The locals and staff are very welcoming and the setting.......well, simply stunning. If you a break to "get away from it all"..this is the place. Lots to do in and around the Marina, plenty of walks and the area is steeped in history and stunning views wherever you look. I will be going back. Thank you for making my stay a brilliant experience
