Exactly what was advertised. Friendly owner's. Cabin was lovely and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. It was lovely to come back in the evening an sit next to the log burning. Would recommend and would definitely return

Lovely, cosy place to get away. Nicely decorated and fullt equipped. Only suggestion would be a shower attachment for the bath :)

“fantastic log cabin and relaxing break.”
Reviewed 19 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

just back from a weekend over at 'lucys nest' and had an amazing time. cabin is perfect for a relaxing weekend. everything you need is in there, logs coal etc for the fire which is perfect getting cabin cosy. lovely quiet location but perfect for getting to the little towns etc.
my boy loved having toby and stella the dogs coming over to say hello. not a bad word can be said about this, and we will most certainly be booking again for later in the year. would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice break in log cabin down this area.

“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 5 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We stayed the first weekend in November and it was very cold. Luckily the wood burner and heater came in handy. One issue we had was the tv and DVD doesn't work properly so you can't watch DVDs. Tv is a bit limited. Also I would recommend taking some blankets for when you first get in before the fire gets going. All in all a good stay.

So sorry about the tv/DVD player.
You were right, it was the TV that was faulty.
I have now replaced it.

“Beautiful and peaceful - a perfect weekend getaway”
Reviewed 26 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We'd stay here again for sure! The cabin is simple but well-equipped - it has everything you could want for a short break and is a perfect size for two. It's one of two cabins set back from the road in a quiet little paddock. The veranda at the front was perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and marvelling at the millions of stars above, or the breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. Inside, there were logs, kindling and coal waiting for us when we arrived so we could get a fire going right away. It really adds to the cosy feel of the cabin and heats the place nicely. We even made a new friend in the shape of an affectionate little white cat that popped over regularly throughout the day. She stayed for strokes and to keep warm overnight and made the place feel even more homely.

Diana had kindly sent us really helpful directions beforehand and popped over to see us shortly after we arrived to check we had everything we needed. She was really friendly and more than happy to recommend several places for walks, eating out and things to see and do in the area. She recommended sleeping on the sofa bed too, as it was warmer and the little loft bedroom did get cold at night. There is a little plug-in heater so we did try it on the first night. The sofa bed would still be our recommendation as well though.

We didn't realise from the pictures that there is only a bath and no shower, which is worth knowing but wasn't an issue for us. There also didn't seem to be any shops particularly nearby but it was only a 15-minute drive to the nearest pub and a little longer to a big town for a supermarket and some other little shops. A little slice of a simpler, more beautiful life - we loved it! Thank you!

“A little piece of heaven”
Reviewed 23 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Idyllic location a field's walk from Alaw Reservoir. Cabin was fully equipted - down to the smaller things like matches for the fire, and washing liquid, Diana the owner is lovely and nothing too much trouble. If you are looking for a countryside location and seeking peace and quiet, here is the perfect solution. We wished we could have stayed longer, and will definitely return.

“Perfect tranquil location exactly what we wanted”

we wanted a peaceful location and that's just what we got, the Cabin was clean and tidy and everything we hoped for. The bedroom wouldn't be to everyone's taste due to the stairs but we were so cosy on the sofa bed with the log burner glowing so romantic. Diana is a lovely lady and made us feel very welcome during our stay. We will be returning when possible.
