My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week in Sept 2015. The hotel is stunning, it is perfect for a relaxing week away to unwind surrounded in a stunning backdrop over the hills. I would recommend all-inclusive as the food is very good (truly 5 star standard) and good quality drinks.

Some tips: walk up to the cross tavern at the top of the hill for dinner, get reception to book you a good table for sunset (you will not regret it - stunning). The only downside for me was you are quite isolated but the hotel run shuttle buses to nearby beaches/coves which is great. Also be sure to visit shipwreck beach!

Room Tip: cheap promotional rooms are basic but functional

Stayed at this hotel in Septemer 2015. What an absolutely fantastic hotel. We had the most relaxing holiday ever. From the start everything was perfect. Wewere upgraded to a suite with a shared private pool which was on same level as pool on lower level, so if we needed a drink from pool bar we just had to go a few steps. (Room 314). Everything about this hotel is classy from the food to the staff, upgrade to all inclusive at the hotel as it is well worth it. The food is the best we've had at any hotel, not a chip in sight. Take advantage of the free bus excursions, we went on two and it was enough to make you feel as if you weren't isolated as the hotel is on a very quiet cliff edge next to a small village. Walked up to the taverna on top of hill with large cross, took about 30 mins of steady walking but worth it for view and nice cold beer, plus you can call at a couple more tavernas on way back down.. This is an idyllic hotel where you just chill and relax. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to relax for a week or two and leave your worries at home. Will be back

Room Tip: room 314 has a private shared pool with next door and is situated near pool and pool bar, best of both worlds

This was my first all inclusive 5* holiday, so I wasn't totally sure what to expect. When we arrived it was the early hours of the morning and when we walked in to reception it was like a scene from the titanic. It was stunning! When we checked in we were told that food had finished but the staff would put us something together. They proceeded to bring out 2 huge platters of various (Greek) buffet style food which certainly filled our empty tummies. Whilst we ate our food we were accompanied by a trio who were each playing a harp, piano and singing - it was a bit surreal and very unexpected. We were then taken to our "room" on a golf buggy. Were we in for a shock........ we had been upgraded to a luxury suite/bungalow with it's own pool!! JUST FOR US!!! Unfortunately we were unable to take in the real beauty of the exterior and our surroundings until the following day. A truly relaxing holiday in a 5* location. I would recommend hiring a car for a few days as the Mabely Grand is located in the quietest part of the island and there isn't much to do. The main fault at the hotel was the Wi-Fi connection . This could only be picked up in the lobby and only at certain times of the day - along with all the other guests, it was very difficult to even get a slight signal let alone actually manage to get on-line. The hotel website states that there is a gym and a Jacuzzi, but please don't rely on those as the Jacuzzi was very dirty and mouldy, and the gym had just basic equipment, which was fine but nothing extravagant. The quality of the food every day was exceptional and extremely varied, so definitely catered for all tastes. I would love to go back to this hotel if I could,

Room Tip: we had a bungalow type suite with it's own pool, I'm not sure what the rooms in the actual hotel are like, but I guess they are all lovely

Wow...we loved this hotel, the location, the staff and the weather. The views from the hotel across the Ionian Sea were stunning especially from the outdoor dinning areas and pools. The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. There was an evening where we could drink and dance on the roof of the hotel underneath the stars, a wonderful treat and thoroughly enjoyed by my 8 year old daughter.
This was a real find, with us thoroughly expecting to return to this hotel in 2016.

Stayed: August 2015

Visited during Sept 16-23. Great hotel, food, staff, decor all wonderful. Isolated so you'll need transport, would recommend a car for a week. Sept there's a lot of wasps and does rather impact on your relaxation around the pool, but still a great hotel. Extremely quiet and relaxed atmosphere, small and friendly for couples. Nothing for children. If you want total relaxation, this is the hotel for you. If you want a hub of activity, games and fast food with chips, burgers etc, this is most definitely not for you. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant is refined, white linen, good quality healthy freshly cooked food. If you want relaxed quick food there's a pool bar. This is the most chilled hotel I have ever been to and would definitely visit again. A few slopes to climb if your room is away from the main building, so you need to be reasonably mobile and fit. However, you'll enjoy the food so much, it's an opportunity to work it off. Internet signal not the best, even sitting beside the router. So download at home.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid of a room away from the main building, very quiet and upgrade to pool room on ground floor.
