“Exceeded my expectations”
Reviewed 30 April 2012

Having read some mediocre reviews before going, my expectations were a little low. I travelled with my two sisters and we had a fantastic chilled-out time. The rooms were perfect (and we were not in the preferred rooms). We had two interconnecting bedrooms, very spacious, overlooking the pool and with a good view of the sea. Beds were very comfortable - never to be taken for granted in hotels, I find. Bathrooms very large and well-equipped.
The food was a pleasant surprise because I normally get fed-up with all-inclusive after 2 or 3 days, especially the self-service. What we liked was that there were 7 restaurants to choose from and 6 out of the 7 were waiter service. We ranked the 5 evening restaurants in the following order of preference: Mercure, Asian and Capers, Cin Cin, Tamarindo. Only bad meal was in Tamarindo and we had a Fawlty Towers moment in Cin Cin which was funny! Carnival and Castaways were quite good for breakfast/lunch.
Service was generally very good and friendly, but I would agree with some other reviewers that they could sometimes be slow in bringing a drink, or milk, or whatever extra was required.
We used the beach rather than the pool most days and there was never a problem getting a sunbed even though the resort was full. The water was beautiful and even though it was a little rocky, it was not difficult to get in and out of the sea.
The location is a bit out of the way, but it suited us fine as we just wanted to relax. We did pay a trip to Playa del Carmen once though - taxi US$45 each way - although you could pay in pesos and it would work out much cheaper.
Strangely enough, the only time we got mosquito bites was when we went to Playa del Carmen. We had been lulled into a false sense of security. I don't know why, but we never got bitten in the resort - maybe proximiity to the sea?
Overall, a great holiday and I would recommend Now Jade Riviera :)

This is a beautiful modern hotel with a beautiful infinity pool. The year before, I went to the sister hotel called Now Saphire and I definitely prefer the Now Jade decor and beach! Good food, good drinks and nice beach! You have the option to lay around this huge pool, to go play with the sand or participate in all the fun activities provided my the Entertainment team! My family and I enjoyed the beach volleyball, waterpolo, bike ride, spanish classes and evening shows! We really enjoyed the entertainment team (Zairy, Paul, Polo, Roberto... and I forget the names of the other). The food was good too and if you are hungry during the day, you can go to the Coco cafe that can serve little snacks and good iced coffees. If you want some more quiet time, walk along the beach and go into what they called the "prefered area" and you can lay down in a hamac and have a couple of drinks, still on the hotel property. Nice and beautiful place! I`ve also seen nice weddings taking place there...

We just got back from Now Jade after a wonderful 7 night stay. I have to say that I never write any reviews but was compelled to do so this time, since we used the reviews to make our decision about this vacation. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The quality of service is outstanding! There are so many "small" touches that make your stay relaxing and truly luxurious, such as a coffee shop, great restaurants, responsive staff, variety of activities, and pretty good entertainment. We got an upgrade for a preferred room for $350 and it was worth it! The view was exceptional, the room was spacious and well furnished. The beach in the preferred area is not for swimming, but it takes a 2 minute walk to get to the "non-preferred" beach, which is a little rocky but very swimmable. If you walk a little farther ( about half a mile from preferred, just outside the resort area) the beach is amazing- no rocks, turquoise water and very quite! Some people would go there for a little snorkeling and solitude. We were amazed by how quite the resort is. Regardless of plenty of activities and entertainment offered each night you never heard any noise if you just wanted peace and quiet. I have to write few lines about the food, which was amazing! It is not just the variety , but quality and presentation. We tried all restaurants and were never disappointed. Even the buffet was exceptional! When we arrived we had " orientation" with one of the staff members, who mentioned something about "timeshare". We told him that we prefer not to be bothered with offers/presentations and such. We did not have anyone approach us, not even once in 8 days! Some reviews mentioned that they were annoyed by the sales attempts, well make it clear when you arrive and you will not be bothered! Also, we found the comment about serving staff waiting for tips NOT to be true. I have to say that we tipped but to our surprise many people did not and the quality of service did not change! The serving staff appreciate the tips for sure ( wouldn't you, if you were in their shoes?!) but always had integrity about it.

Room Tip: upper floors have best views, choose building 9- very quiet.

I travel almost every month, if not for business for pleasure and I usually avoid all inclusives especially Mexico. (can't deal with Mexican minutes). My friend had her wedding here so no choice. First of all, i upgraded my room and it was wonderful. Quite modern for Mexico and the bathroom was outstanding.

The restaurants were pretty decent especially the japonese. The pools were gorgeous as well!! If you are looking to relax this is the spot. You are 20 minutes away from any city worth visiting.

Room Tip: Ocean view a must.

once we arrived at Now Jade we were greeted with smiles and cold towels and drinks. we were offered an upgrade as soon as we were checking in and we decided that it would be worth the $35/night and it was. We were put on the second floor in the first room facing the ocean. The view was amazing the balcony over looked the pool the beach the wedding etc. The entertainment staff was great we participated in volleyball, bocci ball, water polo, and trivia. I am 27 and my wife is 25 this place had everything we could of asked for. The staff was on top of their game everytime we went to get a refill. The food was okay nothing to write home about but didnt make you sick either. The only negative of the entire 6 day stay was my wife went to the restroom at the sports bar and the toliet paper smelt like it had diesel fuel on it??? The mens room didnt have this problem. All in all we would go back to Now Jade in a heart beat and recommend it to any one who is thinking of going!!!! p.s. the towel game does not exsist every morning we went to breakfast at around 9 and go to the pool by no later than 10:00 and we never had a problem.

Room Tip: Building 1 room 2210 was the perfect location !!! Def. worth the small upgrade fee.

This Resort was fantastic. We spent 7 very nice days here and there were no disappointments. The rooms were very nicely laid out and very clean. We opted for a ocean view room and that turned out very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet which made for very restful nights. We went to all of the restaurants and all had very good service and the food was top notch. We loved spending time at the beach bar in the evenings because our bartender Darius was awesome. He had a great way of entertaining his patrons and we never went without our favorite drinks. We did not attend any of the nightly entertainment shows so i can't say anything about those. I like to go deap sea fishing while in Mexico so I loved the location of this resort. I was able to walk to the El Cid marina and go fishing which was very convenient.

Room Tip: Select one of the ocean view rooms. The cost is a little more than a garden view room, but it is we...
