We stayed at Casitas Kinsol for the first two and last night of our three week trip around the Yucatan and Cuba. Christine and Alain are both lovely, welcoming hosts and make it feel like a home away from home. The layout is gorgeous and the rooms have lots of little touches which make them unique. Alain was great at recommending things to do - we went to the Botanical Garden which was lovely and within easy walking distance. Alain also got us a great deal snorkelling, which was amazing and highly recommended! We loved the location of Casitas Kinsol as it really does feel like real Mexico and the locals are really friendly. We ate at the fish restaurant recommended by Christine and Alain at the end of the main street which was really brilliant - my boyfriend's favorite meal of our whole trip! We also ate at Las Micheladas - the lovely little bar on the highway which makes the famous Mangoritas, and at Maria's over the road from Casitas Kinsol, which is a little cafe run by a lovely Mayan family serving really authentic Yucatan dishes (and is very very cheap). The food in this bit of the town started the trend we discovered all over the Yucatan - the local places are much cheaper and often serve much better food than the touristy places, so long as you don't mind eating at a plastic table amongst the locals you will find the best food in these spots!

Oh and one last tip - the fruit and veg shop on the corner does gorgeous fresh fruit juices and fruit platters with chilli salt which was amazing for breakfast.

Thanks Alain and Christine for the warm welcome and farewell to the Yucatan!

We spent a month a Casitas Kinsol, and true to their motto we left as friends. Alain and Christine are fantastic hosts. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff do an excellent job of ensuring it stays that way - including regular changing of linen etc. We'll definitely be back to visit our friends at Kinsol. If you want to experience "Real Mexico" this is an excellent way of doing it.

We had booked with CK for 3 nights and ended up staying for 6. The space is really lovely: great attention to detail, friendly and helpful hosts, outgoing guests and nicely located in what feels like a genuine Mexican town. Close enough to the beach (30 minute walk or 5 minute collectivo bus ride) to get your sun fix but far enough away to feel authentic. Alain knows the area well and can guide you wherever you want to go. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

I'm spending my last night here of 3. It's beautiful. The room is clean & the bed is comfortable. The owners (and their pups:) are very nice and helpful. The design of the rooms and the garden is perfection. I love it here, so will you.

Casitas Kinsol is a quaint, clean oasis hidden in a neighborhood that was true Mexico. The neighborhood is away from the resorts and allows you to experience the local flavors. It is safe and the local people are warm and delightful. The food was exceptional and fresh. They say if you cannot grow it or kill it you do not eat it (nothing processed). The host Alain was helpful and charming, we are really sorry we missed meeting Christine who we hear is just as warm. The dogs are adorable and filled our hearts while we were away from our own. The energy here is truly amazing! We stayed in room #7 and loved it. Casitas Kinsol helped make this one of our favorite vacations ever.

I stayed twice in Casitas Kinsol for a short period. It's a beautiful place, situated in a regular block in Puerto Morelos. There is a lush little 'square' around which the rooms are situated. The trees and a sort of terrace make this a quiet and shadowy place to hang out, read, eat or have a chat with the hosts.

Christine and Alain are very friendly hosts. They both are nice to talk to about a lot of things! They also have plenty of ideas how to make the most of your stay.
I have great memories of them and Casitas Kinsol :)

One travel advice if you take the bus from Cancun airport: don't let people trick you to take a taxi! There was a guy, dressed in ADO suit, telling me the busses don't stop in Puerto Morelos anymore. This is not true; they do stop there! The bus service is very comfortable. But unfortunately, taxi scams now even dress up as their competition to make you think you're talking to a real ADO representative...

Casitas Kinsol is a beautiful and unique haven set amidst the locals in Puerto Morelos. From the street, you wouldn't even know it was there. Room #4 was amazing, giving the feel of spending the night in a safe and well equipped treehouse. The owners, Christine and Alain, took a personal interest in making sure that our stay was full of fun local fare and experiences unique to that area. They went above and beyond when they invited us along on a mini Mexico roadtrip through Quintana Roo and Yucatan, seeing sights and experiencing things we never would have experienced without them!
The Casitas Kinsol pets were great too. Tati, Nena, and Taxi were a constant source of laughter and Tati is always ready for a cuddle.
Some things to ask Alain about when you're there: Mangoritas, the cenotes, panuchos, Cayuse snorkeling, and Sativa :-)

Room Tip: Room #4 has it's own cute balcony overlooking the entrance and it's own private hammock insi...
