We have been to many all inclusive resorts, while this may not have been the best it was close.
We went with the preferred club garden view.
Check in was very quick and private, we got there at 12:30 and were in our room by 1:00. No pressure to talk to other resorts. Our room was the typical resort room with a king size bed. It was very clean and everything worked great.
We traveled as a couple so the longest we waited for a table for dinner was 15 min. The food was above par for a resort. Breakfast was at the Bluewater Grill every day, the staff was always super friendlyand the mamosas were a great start to the day.
The only slight down side that I can come up with was the maids, the room was clean but we were to get turn down service but that only happened once.
We look forward to going back next year.

We spent one week at the Sapphire 2/10-2/17, purchased the Preferred package before we left and requested a first floor oceanfront room. Check in for the preferred package is in the Preferred Club Lounge. This is a lovely large room and there is almost always a snack available there as well as top shelf drinks, computer access and concierge. Check in was flawless as well as effortless. Although we arrived early (11am) we were given immediate access to a first floor oceanfront and told we could change that to a room more centrally located in two days which we chose to do.
The rooms are large, airy, cleaned everyday and cleaned well. The preferred package gets you a some pringles, m&ms and three little airline sized bottles of liquor. This is a one time only but the fridge is restocked daily with beer, sodas, juices and water.
The beach is beautiful, white powdery sand and yes, a bit of seagrass, which only requires that you step over it on your way to the water. They sweep this beach all day long and the little that is there is really not a problem for anyone. The big tractor that pulls the weeder is a thrill for the children who run up like its an ice cream truck. Never many children and always well behaved and monitored by their parents. It is breezy, and one day even too windy to sit on the beach in the early am, but the breeze is also a blessing as it is very hot otherwise.
The Restaurants (specialty) were really great, don't miss the raspberry mousse at the Mediterranean restaurant, where there is also a salad bar. The Cibu was also very good. We only ate these 3 times as the buffet and the Blue Water Grill were also wonderful. I just can't see people complaining about this as there is so much to choose from. If you are going for food, try the Riu Palace Riviera Maya. We were seated immediately every time we went.
The Blue Water Grill is oceanfront, outdoor and open for breakfast lunch and dinner some nights. Lunch and dinner is open to all, breakfast only to the preferred package. Mimosas available at both buffet and BWG at breakfast.
The Staff were cheerful and always willing to help.We had not one single complaint.
The Preferred Club Pool was quite lovely and had BaliBeds, as well as beach recliners. The only problem is figuring out how this reservation system works with the concierges. The Beach has one (Ivan) and the preferred pool has one (Israel). There is some confusion about whether or not you have to make a reservation for the recliners in the pool. Reservations are made the day before, so the first two days you may not get one. This was only a modest annoyance as we prefer the beach to the pools.
The Differences You Might not Expect: There is no bracelet system, but the staff do keep track of room numbers. There is no fuss re towels, you don't turn in a towel card, you can take as many as you want whenever you want. There is no extra charge for the room safe.
Taxis are very expensive $45 rnd trip to Pueto Morelos.
The BIG PLUS is the oceanfront room and the fact that this is not a huge hotel so you never feel like you are sharing with 400 other people.
The ONLY MINUS was the reservation system.
We will definitely return.

The Now Sapphire was a beautiful resort with pools and fountains everywhere. The food was great and the grounds and buildings were well maintained. However check-in was very disorganized. We arrived at about 10 a.m. anticipating an early start to our vacation. The luggage was left on the lawn by the curb, not locked up, and we were ushered to a large nice room with good food. We were second in line, but almost last to get our room. Check in was supposed to be by 3 pm, and we went back to this room many times to check to see if our room was ready, at 4:30 we were finally given a key even though it was still not ready and just after 5 it was finished but when we went to use our key it did not work and I had to go to the front desk again to have that fixed. It was almost 6 by the time we got in. So much for out first day! The rooms were great, the food was great, and the rest of the service was great too. The equipment from the sports area was good most of the time. By the end of the week only one of the three hobby-cats was working so your time on them was very limited. The kayaks were great. The snorkeling off the beach was very limited. It was mostly sea grass and garbage. The garbage could be easily cleaned up. We saw coral starting in the sea grass, but would be washed away in the next storm. If they put out some large cement flower pots with holes, you could start an artificial reef and habitat for fish (we saw this in Cozumel). We went out to the reef one day to snorkel and it was excellent ($40 each). The pool was beautiful and if you like a good party, there was always music and people having a good time around it. The beaches were great and raked clean every morning.
