The baked goods are to die for. The lunch options are random and tasty. The dinner menu is famous. Enough said.

Sure, one can dine at Sierra Mar/Post Ranch ($125/pp excluding wine) or at Sur House/Ventana ($90/pp excluding wine) or a few other restaurants around the Hwy 1, but none will have better food served by gracious wait staff. Our firsts of sautéed chanterelles and smoked salmon toast, and mains of half roast chicken (sublime) and scallops were fantastic. Likely for a fraction of a cost of the big two above.

Every time we go to Big Sur we have lunch and/or dinner here. The food is always great and there are always interesting items on the menu. The service is terrific and the people are very knowledgable and friendly

We stopped here for gas, directions, a restroom break, and a little something to eat. Gas was a little higher than other stops just down the road. The Bakery was very crowded. We arrived about 930 in the morning and many of the pastries were already gone. I had a brownie for $5.95 that was OK. Also got a salted Caramel doughnut that was very good but really didn’t taste the salted Caramel. I think that cost about $3.25. I would say the prices are a bit high for what you are getting. But it was very cute. Probably would not buy anything to eat here again.

Cuteness overload!! We saw this place from the road and drove in because it was so adorable! The gardens are so pretty; this was a great place to relax and take a break with a good meal during our long drive. I had the vegetarian avocado toast. My husband had some sort of grilled cheese. Both were great (although we both agreed we liked his a little more!). The ambiance is really nice - relaxed and cool. The food was slowwww and we were here a lot longer than we expected (over an hour). We are go, go, go (east coast) sort of people, but it was nice to just sit back and enjoy chatting while we waited. Great stop!! And yay for vegetarian choices :)
