We really enjoyed our 6 days horse trail in wonderful island of Faial. Horses were nice. Guides were professional. The route was well planned and very beautyful. I really enjoyed my holiday and feel very relaxed after.

Had a great stay over Easter break at this wonderful lodge. Rooms are lovely and absolutely spotless. The dinner is a nice option and the food and local wine were all great. I can’t say enough about the riding and guides - the trails along the coast are unforgettable and the staff took such good care of us. I also commend the family owners for creating a luxious atomosphere with a sense of eco responsibility, very impressive. I only wish we could have stayed for more than 4 days! There is a lot to discover on Faial.

Victor and the staff at Patio do everything possible to make sure everybody is having their ideal vacation, from making arrangements for side trips to ensuring good matches of horses and riders. The wonderful chef also went out of her way to make sure I had delicious vegetarian food during my stay - not an easy thing on a small island.

The horses are beautifully cared for and well trained, and it was an absolute delight to spend six days exploring the whole island with them. From the volcanic sand of Capelinhos to the beautiful canters on the red path under the wind turbines, it was an excellent ride.

While some of my companions who were staying in the lodge thought my desire to camp was a bit strange, I heartily recommend the Discover Trail, which lets you stay in a tent in a number of beautiful places across the island, while still eating great food and experiencing the hospitality of the Patio team.
